Its fine for suspension work. It sucks engine / trans work that has to be accessed from underside....which is a major reason most people want a lift!

I had a scissor lift like this, It was cool at first but became an aggrivation. Nothing pisses you off more than laying on your back, working on a transmission, while looking over at the scissor lift just sitting there on the ground not doing shit to help you

I've got one I'll let you have for $700. Says 6600lb capacity.....the structure is up for it, I'm not sure the pump is. Mine has a pneumatic lock release. Stout unit.

I bought it a few years ago. Mine is a Chinese off brand, but in talking with a few of the lift suppliers, they all told me to go this route since it was all the same shit from the same plant (even came in the same style crate lol) for 1/2 the price.

I have one of the ones you posted in the body shop. I want one for the house. depends on what you are wanting to do with it. The nice part about those is they don't take up a ton of space. You can open the doors all the way. I want to use it more for finishing cars and get them up to a comfortable working height. I also have 2 and 4 post lifts. They all have their plusses and minus'.

A guy who's car I've been working has one of these. Short of removing a trans, it's pretty cool, and can be moved around like a pallet jack when not in use.

There is really no replacement for a 2 post lift with arms. Complete access. You have to have the ceiling height however.

It's all about what you need however, and the room you have to work with, priorities etc.

We bought something similar to this set up at work after our in ground truck lift crapped out. A bit spendy but very handy and doesnt take up a whole lot of room along a wall when not it use.

All great choices. I’ll add what I’ve been using for quite a while now - MaxJax! Lifts everything but a truck and I can unbolt the columns and roll them into a corner when not in use.
BTW, since we are moving to TN, I don’t know what the garage situation is yet, so I’m planning to sell this unit for $1K when the time comes.

We had one like that on the flight line for lifting the air packs in to 747’s and 787’s.
I would be hesitant to use it for a vehicle.
the ground has to be smooth and level, but most importantly, the load needs to be balanced.
the vehicle might go up nicely, but once you start removing wheels or heavy parts, be careful

Yup, nothing is perfect.
I have been itching for a two post. The catch is I would need to re-truss part of my roof in my shop. That said, I would need to cut out anchor points in my floor and repour concrete. All could be worthwhile though. I feel like the Quick Jack TL 7000 would be very top heavy and easy to knock over sideways. That would be super scary in my opinion. That said, I could use it in my shop with no other modification. The reality is most of my stuff is fairly straight forward and is things like brakes and general service.

I have 15 of the larger versions of these that we ship all over North America for various OEM projects. They have been nearly flawless for a couple of years and have thousands of duty cycles. The only knock is that they limit you for drive-train work, but anything corner-related or service-related in a private garage setting would be great.

I just ordered 30 more lifts, mostly 10k, 2 posts, but a handful more of these because they are so handy for what we do.

A guy I knew in a "historical" neighborhood in Cali wasn't allowed to add on to his "carriage house", but it had a pit already. He dug out the bottom of the pit, and mounted his 100gl compressor in the bottom It freed up floor space, and made it pretty tolerable noise wise.
