Been thinking of taking a trip up there within the next 2-3 months. There would be two or three boats plus a toy hauler. Is there a camp ground that allows you to camp/launch/moor on the beach? Was thinking of something similar to La Paz Park in Parker.. I also understand there is a speed limit on the lake, what are the noise restrictions like there? Thanks in advance and any other advice for a group of naci rookies would be much appreciated:thumbsup

I haven't been in years, used to have two friends with homes in Heritage Ranch,, so I think I only camped at the campgrounds one time.

That place used to be a well kept secret, you could go on a holiday weekend and still have 15 miles of smooth water, and speed was never an issue there. One of my friends had a Campbell with a Banks 850 HP turbo engine (first turbo engine I ever rebuilt 31 years ago, and it still together in one piece!), never had a problem running whatever speed we wanted. Heck, we even got caught on plane down at the narrows, but Jerry had his "Master Badge" with him in his wallet and escaped without a citation!

Hope it's at least partly as nice as it used to be,, deer would come out around dusk,, cool lake!

No speed limit, you can camp on the water but is is first come first serve, I haven't heard of anyone getting a noise ticket and have seen some boats with zoomies:D

You can stay/camp at the main marina. There's lots of camping/beach front available. There's a really nice grocery store about 2 miles down the road. No speed limit or noise restrictions. The water level is good right now, should be fine for the rest of the year. We'll be there in two weeks. Heard it's been really mellow this year for some reason. All holidays have been pretty chill. It's a great lake! You'll enjoy it. Here's some pics from various years.

It really is a GREAT lake! If you don't camp it can suck balls if you don't know someone in Oak Shore or Heritage Ranch. There's no hotels on or even remotely near the lake. Theres rental condos at the main marina but they aint cheap. Heritage has a no rent policy in their HOA's and Oak Shores is pretty spendy to rent in as well. So camp or make friends with someone that has a house up there quick!!

Not even close last 10 years, first trip to Naci was 110 + and it feels like 120+ at Parker. I wish the fishing was as good at Parker and miss the friends I met over the years there. Its the best lake in Cali when the water is up, Someday I will have a house in Oak Shores. My Waitress at Rudy's alway informs of the fixer uppers for cheap.

We just got back from a 3 day trip at Nacimiento last weekend. We rented a house in Bee Rock last year, but this time we reserved a cottage at Lake Nacimiento Resort. Surprisingly clean and nice (for a 1990's styled interior). Two story with a bedroom, loft, bathroom, kitchen, living room, and a phenomenal view. Comes with a slip as well. Not cheap by any means ($350 per night) but they allow 2 nights as opposed to the 3 night minimum elsewhere.

The water is definately down at this time. It was much higher late September last year. No worries though, still plenty of water.

At Lake Nacimiento Resort Marina, you can camp (tent or moho) right at the waters edge on the beach. Kind of a cluster with no organization but everyone looked like they were having fun. Keep your boat in a slip or simply anchor offshore. Air temp was in the 90's and water was very nice and inviting. :thumbsup

You'll like Naci, best water for skiing and tubing is in 'Las Tablas' (see map from Tank's post). Weekdays are great, can get crazy on weekends. Camping is Ok and there is a store and restaurant at the marina. Also be sure your bilge is dry and plug is out, they will be checking for the Quagga Mussels. Enjoy!

Did the same over fathers day weekend! The cabins are nice bit dated! Would do it again!

No not on the water. If you plan on fishing which I suggest. Troll with a Rapala SR-5 or SR-7 for big bass.
