School me on 2001 225 Promax Supermag blocks

Hello Brain Trust of Knowledge! New to the outboard world Found a boat with twin 2001 225 Promax Supermag blocks (unknown hours) but just had full service Any RED Flags on these motors, parts availability, performance, reliability. Any key upgrades to ensure reliability? Thx in advance!!!!

Awesome engines. In stock form they are great. Converted to 16 amp charging systems, a light flywheel, 1 inch spacer, svs intake and a brucato ecu they are even better.

Most reliable high performance to weight ratio ever produced. Actually I believe there 240 HP.

Great info! I've read compressor and injectors are a possible issue...thoughts? Also any recommendations on Mercury shop(s) in Florida panhandle area??

ProMax's aren't DI, those were the 200 xs. Stay the hell away from Eagle One out that way. Diamond Marine used to be the go to in Florida but Marty and Joe retired. Chris Carson in Key Largo is a straight up guy.

Building one with a horn and all the goodies for my HST. Hopefully it will be up and running for labor day. 135 psi so it will run on 89 with a conservative set up.

Eagle one took me for a ride.
The 225 I had on my Allison put that boat in triple digits with 1.75gears and a 30 Performance Yamadrag at 6850rpms. It was 20 years old and still running strong when I sold it. Crazy good motor.
