This would have sold if it had a back seat. The Schiada I have didn’t sell for a long time because of that reason. People want a place to put their kids.
I usually keep my backseat out just because. 4 QR pins is all it takes.

I looked long and hard at that boat, and was ready to pull the trigger. I just couldn’t get the boss lady on board. Such a bad ass boat, one of my all time faves!

Really tried avoiding getting into this convo, but here we go.

they are to an extent, but no more than enjoying a classic car.

hull wise, I dont think they're drastically different, it comes down to the rigging and setup. You'll see 21' schiadas in every type of propulsion out there, and they'll all ride and handle differently.

Now this is just my PERSONAL OPINION....

What makes a 18-21' v-drive special is a few things. Rigging, even the most basic v-drive is prob double the hours of a typical stern drive boat rigging time. The engineering is crucial to performance and handling. The materials used in these higher end boats is top notch, they're just as much a show piece as they are a working machine. Pull the center floors on any higher end boat, and you'll be blown away how everything is setup for something that never gets seen. Performance, when properly setup, a the propshaft will drive the boat up and out of water, couple that with manual plates that can be fine tuned on the fly with your left foot and you have an almost infinitely adjustable ride. Stabbing the over ride pedal, getting that forward fin to hook as you turn in hard. I've never been in a boat that turns more violently than my Rayson, Its almost like someone designed the boat to go fast and turn hard.

We need to meet up out in Parker so I can take you for a ride in my buddies Stoker. I grew up in a Raysoncraft hull. I have the scars on my calves to prove it! 😁

Ask Wheeler how a Stoker turns, and I wasn't even pushing it hard!

The typical argument is about what's faster per HP, a Stoker or a Schiadas?

The Stoker always wins this one, but jezuz they ride like shit in any rough water!!! Worse than a fucking flat unless you have the balls (and space) to run it wide open.

The Schiadas can handle rough water in stride, and survive with pretty much any amount of HP you want to put in them.

Those are great features to have. 👍🏼

Spent many summers in this 21' RT JET TT running around Big River. Bob Teague built the motor in his garage out back of his house. Same boat that ran up on the dock in Parker and is all white now.

right, but what about them is so special? Deadrise? etc?

What makes these things so sought after, to me they seem like a small deep v from a bygone era.... (21 and 24 version).
Very little innovation in V hull design over the years that I am aware of, maybe steps and pads?

They are a completely custom boat builder Not sure if there two alike.

My boat for example - Seat bases are through bolted with stainless hardware and nylocks. Its a 1994 and there isn't a single rattle. Things you can't see like the underside of the seats and the back side of the side panels are all clean and put together like they are visible. They used long stainless staples on all the vinyl. The staples are lined up together perfectly - - - - - - My seats attach to bases that are through bolted to the deck and I can get the seats off via stainless wing nuts (easy). Many other builders just wood screw the seat base through the deck.

Their hulls are long proven for their intended use. My 24 does have a steep deadrise which gives it a great ride
in choppy water.

Nowadays they are a classic design and look that will never go out of style. Someone mentioned muscle cars from the late 60s. I agree with that comparison.

When you hit the river or lake you just don't see many of them. Meanwhile the lake is full of identical boats of other manufacture.

I guess the fact that they are still somewhat rare, they have a cool ski race history and they will never go out of style adds to allure for some.

Someone please explain to me what makes these so bad ass.

i mean i get the twin turbo v drive ones i see in parker are cool, and that they have a catalina ski boat race history and handle the chop well.

But other than that seems like they are super expensive, even the old ones, without much innovation over the years. Is this like the teague pixie dust effect?

Again i am SUPER ignorant to these and i am asking bc i am genuinely curious.

School me.
If you want that cool 70’s-80’s look, ”Boating the Colorado River/Parker Strip“, Schiada and a few other Mfg prevailed in the 1970’s.

Its an envy thing as well, finally gathering enough cash to buy that old man’s treasured work of art, sitting on a trailer in the garage.

My family had a couple ski race boats and still have one they ride so nice and the arrowhead trophies lining the house are the reason grandpa kept buying them and he was hard on stuff lol

Great explanation! . Didn’t know the level of detail that goes into these as I’ve only seen them cursing the river never up close

Spectra 20 @ WesleyWayne

Took this on Arrowhead this evening. Boat looks great and sounds better. Wes is out doing some hot laps and taking folks for a ride so they can experience some proper V-drive boatin'

My only complaint about that video is it’s not in 4k (it is super old after all) I prob watch it 3-4 times a year and really enjoy it as much as the first time I saw it.

Not that I’m a great driver, but def took some cues from watching that.

They also have classic looks that will never age

I disagree on this one. Schiadas straight up look old and don't do it for me at all. I am not knocking build quality or performance of them as I know they are among the best. I'm just not a fan of them looks wise.

To each their own and whatever floats your boat as they say!🍻
