Is anyone else looking At Saturn tonight? It is the closest to Earth right now that it has been in a while, Even a decent set of binoculars will give a view of the rings. It is following the track of the sun. Right now it's about where the sun would be at 7 PM.

How long is this going to happen and what is the best vantage point? I assume it is different placement depending on where you are in the country.

Tonight. I'm in Havasu and it's pretty cool. I assume that right now any of the western states have decent viewing. The color of the rings is really aparent,

Pretty much lost view of it behind the neighbors block wall but that was pretty cool to watch.

I've been watching it for the last week. A few nights ago, about an hour after it rose above the eastern horizon, it was incredibly bright. Goggle Sky Map is a great app for finding and identifying planet movements.

It will last for a couple of weeks . Although it was it's closest on Sun it will still be very close for weeks . One of these days I will be able to stay up at night to use my telescope .
