Its been over 15 years since I have been to the sandhill located on the Arizona side between the sandbar and the mouth of the river leading in to Havasu. We used to call it the jungle cruise as it was a narrow path back through the reeds to this spot. My son now has his own jet boat and he wants to check it out. Not sure if it is still passable or not and just seeing if anyone out there has been lately.

So funny- literally just telling my buddy about this a minute ago. I thought I was the last one to know of the new place to hang out....

We were at the river last weekend and as soon as you get passed the mouth of the river heading up its about a 1/4 on the right side- you will see a bouy.

Perfect place to hang out, there were several boats there Saturday. There was a few really nice CP's making passes throught the area. There was also a few that shouldnt have been makiing any passes!

Hard to tell in the video but you can see a few roof tops- not sure if its houses or golf course/club house roof tops. Hopefully the spot doesnt get ruined- I am sure all of the loud music and boats travels and I could see complaints coming from above.

Thanks RVRKID, those pictures bring back some great memories. I am 51 now (what happened ?) and I was my sons age when we used to take our eliminator bubble deck back in there. Very cool and thanks! I should have taken more pictures back then!

Disneyland is what we always called it. Glad to hear it's still accessible. We check out the entrance every few years and it always looks to overgrown to try to attempt...
Just remember that it does get very very shallow.
You can enter by the mouth of the river heading up and then there are 2 legs that split off to the main river going up to the sandbar. Other than that that's your only options..

This is the area I remember. Some other images folks posted seem way too wide to be the spot. We called it Disneyland and have tried to find it a few times, but it looks like it is all overgrown. It was a piece of cake in the jetboat, probably around the time you took this pic, late 90s-very early 2000s? We built a water slide up there one time with a huge roll of Visqueen (sp). We had a gas-powered pump at the bottom attached to a firehose to take the water up the hill, and a generator and big speakers at the top that belonged to our friend who was in a heavy-metal rock band at the time. Man that was a great day. I've tried to find some pictures, but can't seem to locate them.

The slide was awesome I remember seeing that a couple times, we would take my buddies 21 Ultra Jet back and a couple of us would ride on the swim step and if it got to shallow he would just shut it off and we would push for a little bit. Great times back then.

I think the video that Meaney posted is a little south compared to Disneyland. Especially if you can access a couple ways from the mouth of the river.

Might have to try the area out on video, looks nice!

Cracks me up when someone goes and says "I hope it doesn't get messed up" or "to busy" but they or whoever cant shut their mouth or quit typing and saying exactly where it is. Then there the first ones to complain and bitch about it "always" being to busy.

Speed Alley is a slow alley nowadays 😂 they shut that down a decade or more ago.
It is no longer a no-wake zone. We wakeboard in there frequently. It can get shallow,

Post #28 says it’s no longer a no wake. I remember going there in the 90’s. I think they had a sticker for the boat if you ran over 100 mph. The “100 MPH Club”. 😝

Once you go past the entrance to the river from the lake going north it’s on the right hand side. You used to be able to enter on the south end and exit back to the river on the north end.
