It’s mostly SXS’s now but there is always some nice cars from Tatum, alumi Craft, and Sand Car unlimited. There’s definitely not much for motorcycles and quads anymore and not that many toy haulers to check out like back in the day. Here’s a few pics I took. I did pick up a new Soul Mtn bike \ cruiser 😁
You’ll love the soul. Speaking of that @HNL2LHC you planning to do a ride again this year? Hopefully we can make it.

Was there Friday night and Saturday. Some very cool stuff on display. It was cool to actually see 2 new Sandcar builders there, very cool to see alumicraft make a showing. But the coolest thing there was probably this Range Rover with a Lamborghini twin turbo motor… the welds and fab work were insane.

If you don't follow him on the Instagram, you should. He turns out some incredible stuff, and does a great job of documenting and describing the process.
@morganclarkedesign1
Agreed. Morgan is extremely talented.

Dude is way talented and is fun to follow!

We went down Saturday, it was a good time. Two of our knuckleheads have decided to campaign an older rzr that was sitting around the stable. The story goes “it will be some cheap fun” and give us something else to do during KOH🤦‍♂️ I’ve backed off of my involvement in the old 4400 car, but most of the boys are still helping chase that car. It’s not a competitive program at this point so I’d rather just eat ice cream cones and go wheeling as a tourist. Long story short the old razor is for sure $25-$30k into becoming a new race program after being completely reworked with new everything and outfitted to pass tech LOL yesterday we filled a wagon from PCI with goodies and next week they are going back to PCI to get suited up in race gear. Everything purchased can and IMO will be pulled off the old rzr and put in a real race car which I told them in the beginning is where this is going LOL my prediction is there will be a new and competitive 4400 car under the Johnson Valley Racing moniker in the not so distant future, so dumb 😂😂😂

PCI has tall boy coozies, apparanly when you drop a few grand they outfit your whole crew😂 the cooler carts were very nice aswell. This SXS thingy caught my attention with portals and 43’s total disco ball but cool for a trade show.

I’m should have bought one of these ammo can fire pits for the motorhome, nice to have a smokeless option for some of the rv parks, I think I’m gonna order one. The guy said it burns 1 gallon of propane a hour. The larger one has lava rocks and throws some good heat.

We are for sure ridign this year. Signed up for the Desert Bash. Was plannIng to be in Havasu for a few weeks in Dec. That might get shortened up because of a few projects pulling me away. But hoping to be out there through out the season. 👍 Will try to post up when in town and connect for rides.

The owner of shock therapy lives just over the hill from us and he just buzzed by our house at very low altitude in his MD500. Was low enough my GSD was barking at him from our backyard.

Pretty cool.

I saw @RiverDave this morning then picked up these for a song on my way out. Good to meet you RD 🤙

Actually met a ton of people at the sand show this year! Had a lot of people pretty happy to see Glamisdunes.com making a come back. It is very obvious that a lot of people have a soft spot for that website and care for it deeply.

Nice to meet you as well!

Glad to see GD slowly coming back to life. Glad to see you make a sand show picture thread. That is one thing I have missed for many years on GD. The previous guy that posted pictures of the show, the thread would be like 15 to 20 pages of pictures and that hasnt happend in a long time.

We got outfitted with about a dozen of those tall boy koozies. I just told them with ideas like this, you have won us over and our group is never buying Rugged stuff again.

Didn’t have to pay a dime.

They are excellent koozies.

Rugged was super good to us early on the KOH pursuit, they still are very solid on the race support side of things on race sites, you won’t catch me talking bad about either rugged nor PCI, that being said I have nothing but warm and fuzzy feelings about the legacy of PCI and seeing Ryder Steinberger in there hustling deals at the show as a 3rd generation family business I’m going to support PCI anyway I can. I think we’ll be $7k-$8k into this little shopping spree, but dealing with Ryder and continuing a personal relationship with the next generation is important.

Greg at Rugged has always treated me well, it’s been awesome seeing that company’s success as well, but they are big now and it’s time to get back to the basics, PCI just feels like home if that makes sense.

Somewhere back in the day @Sportin' Wood tipped me off about the hotel bar at the fairplex after the expo, went in and put down a card and bought rounds until they threw us all out, a few well placed beers have created long lasting personal relationships. That’s what all this is really about IMO

We’re running a new program called Johnson Valley Racing. Running an old SXS to prove a point, this is all years of campfire banter and shit talking coming to a head from a veteran 4400 team 😂

PCI and Rugged have both been good backing their products up supporting buyers.

I was pretty good at hustling sponsorship back in the day. I often wonder if I still have the touch. That credit card at the Fairplex bar funded not only my race program, but planted seeds that grew my race promoter dreams.

We used to have a lot of fun at these off-road trade shows between Sancho and Expo. I have so many stories of after hours debauchery.

What's the new sandcar company @SeanRitchie mentioned.
As mentioned, we had the new Brenthel car in the Weddle booth.

I had not seen the car until we pulled in to set up Friday. I like the lines, I like the design and billet suspension components. I was not a fan of the Red with Camo wrap, and they have some fit and finish to work on to catch up to the other guys. It was a pretty good start for their first sand car build. They have 3 more in the works that will get some of the bugs worked out.

I really only wanted that car in our booth to display the paddle shifters on our S5D trans, and I like to show off new builders as much as I can.

Let me know if you guys would be open to a shop tour like we did at eliminator. I am lining one up with Brenthal and would like to hit all the major Sandcar mfg’s and components mfg’s this winter to help grow the site

I posted all the pics there and figured I’d let it marinate for a few days before posting them here. Trying to generate more traffic and if I post them both at once there would be no point of people to go check out the new site.

This week I’ll be going through the forum index and cleaning that up and then launching the front page. Hopefully by end of this week or early next week we will send our first mass email and that will push numbers to the site.

Hey Dave I can't get on the GD Sites. Whenever i try to go on it it takes me to that preview page that used to have a video on it and when I click the continue to site icon nothing happens. Am I missing something?

Maybe you need to clear your cookies because we don’t even have that weird video thing on the front page anymore

Just manually type in Glamisdunes.com and don’t allow it to auto fill

Yes it is. Hopefully it will steadily grow.

That was Loves Dunes, Pete.
He was a great guy, RIP.
I never made it to the SSSS but felt like I did after he posted.
He knew what pictures to take, not stupid ass bling pictures only but the important stuff as well.

$300k with a crate LS3?!?! WTF

I would Guess that would have to be an erod engine to be legal for sale in CA? Then add the Whipple and tuning and exhaust system, cooling and a the ton of other stuff that goes along with it?

Crate engine should have a decent warranty too, maybe?

Doesn't sound like a bad power package to me?

🤷‍♂️

Spent a good amount of time at the Vway Trailers booth, Also went by to marshin whips and checked out mikes Vway stacker. Another level of trailers by far and super cool guys. Big money but the attention to detail was impressive.

We camped with an individual that had a similar trailer last year in glamis. He spent more on the stereo system for his trailer that I did on my motorhome & enclosed trailer combined....the next day he feared he wouldn't have enough fuel to make it back to camp from the flagpole in his $200k+ rail that only had a 15 gallon tank because we didn't take a straight enough path..... You can't make this shit up.

$300k brenthel sand car is definitely not "worth the fun".

i believe it man. Not sure exact numbers on these but the builder told me approximately 300k for the stacker and the big ramp flatbed trailer is for sale for 100k.

hahaha thats great, with that amount of funding who cares if you run out of gas right 🤣

I didn’t see it in person but having talked prices with other sand car builders that doesn’t sound out of line?

The vway trailers were over the top sick.. 100k for that open trailer actually seems like a deal! I couldn’t swallow 300 for the stacker even though I’m sure it’s worth it.

Gotcha, Let me know. The Barbieri family who owns tatum is super cool and I'm sure they'd love to have you come tour! Jeff is a solid guy but there might not be much to tour at the toy factory anymore, He's kinda cleaning house and liquidating all his sand toys. He still has a few extremely nice cars tho
