Looking to squeeze in a last minute family trip…
Short of mortgaging our home for Disneyland and hating that place, any recent experiences?

Took the kids a year ago. The vip experiences is where it's at but they aren't cheap you can hand feed giraffe and bounce around In a jeep next to all kinds of animals like your on an African safari. It's stupid expensive though.

A few years ago. Always have a good time. My kids love animals though.

Meh...
Maybe worth it if your kids like animals.

We have annual passes to the zoo and wild animal parks. Top notch!!!
Us too….. since the kids (twins) were 6. They are 37 now. But grandkids are 6 & 8.
Two suggestions.

Get there 20-30 minutes before they open.

Zoo go straight to the bus.

Wild animals park…. Go straight to the tram.

Bring sealable water bottles. Buy the souvenir drink. It’s cheaper for refills. Bring it back every trip. It’s good for life! Just pour it in the water bottles. As long as everyone agrees on the drink you are good to go.

Can see the San Diego Safari Park (Wild animal park) from our deck, but haven't been in several years.
Has the food improved ? That was seriously disappointing for an attraction that accommodates so many visitors a year.
The bird show was the highlight for us.
Found the food at the SD Zoo better, at least more typical for these types of venues.

Nope the food is still pretty bad. We have tried just about everywhere and have yet to find anything good or a hidden gem

When my son was young, we had annual passes for the Wild Animal Park and the Zoo. Its a great investment. Instead of cramming in a 12 hour day to try and see it all, you can go for a few hours, see some cool stuff, and then leave and come back again. Usually after a few hours at the park, we would hit a bar on the way home or grab a bite to eat somewhere. The food at these places is nasty and overpriced.
