I could imagine getting out there 80mi only to have the plank road totally disappear

We used to camp there wayyyy back before the put the fence up. One night me and DaveH were out in the flats having a beer, all of a sudden these lights roll up on us but they stay about 300 feet away and then beam us.

"What the hell are you guys doing out there?"
"Having a beer"
"You do realize you're in Mexico right now don't you?"
"Oh shit"
"Get your asses back over here"

It was border patrol, There was nothing but stakes in the ground every few hundred feet back then, we had been out bush whackin and ended up stopping on the wrong side of the border

Road there from gecko as kid was pretty bad ass even in the eyes of a 13 yr old. Pretty impressive.
