If this thread gets GD.com’d oh well. But this is important.

I know we got inmates up here in these mountains, and some are in running springs.

The Line fire started at the bottom of the hill by the 330 (east of) and it’s made a run up the hill and now RS and Arrowbear are under evacuation orders.

Just wanted a thread for anyone affected to post any info or if they need any help.

Stay safe all! And pray for the firefighters who have their hands full!

For those of you who don’t know about the app, Watch Duty is huge, I highly recommend it. The free version offers plenty of info.

We had some ash in west lake arrowhead earlier today, then it cleared out and now it’s starting up again. :(

I’m gonna start soaking the property if they start setting warning notices for Lake Arrowhead.

It seems to me it’s heading mainly at RS and AB (arrowbear) but a short distance away is east lake arrowhead and cedar Glen.

Hope they can drop enough phoscheck to get it to stop coming up the hill towards populated areas.

Mountain inmates, chime in if ya got anything.

She's been up there more than 20 years, This is not the first time, but it's always a hold your breath situation. Last time they painted her house with fire retardant from an air drop.

Yeah people are saying the fire has jumped the 330 in a couple places, however Watch Duty isn’t showing that. So could be spot fires caused by embers raining from the existing wind (now northbound), or the weather the fire is making for itself.

Anyway, I’m starting to prep even though it would be an Armageddon event if it got to us. Vehicles are gassed up, starting to run the checklist for stuff to grab, packed bags. Staged hoses around the house with firehose nozzles. Wet down the decks and ground around the house.

Sure hope RS and AB are not affected and it doesn’t get to Cedar Glen either.

Stay safe. Not your first time. Feel your pain and anxiety, Went through a couple of these when we had a cabin in the mountains.

This is from the front yard of one of our stations located on Highland ave in Berdoo (near San Manuel Casino). The column was impressive and continuing to build. This afternoon, we all got the notification that were at work until further notice

If I was CalFire I’d be water dropping from Seven Oaks reservoir, in addition to whatever they are trying to do from the FireBase at Norton (where they store all the local phoscheck).

I don’t know if they got any of those Canadian planes here yet but I know they got some big gun old jet aircraft converted to water droppers there already. Sure hope they are in a constant rotation but the topography certainly isn’t helping their access to the fire.

If it climbs the mountain towards Arrowhead they got that lake to start drawing from as well.

Someone mentioned that maybe the fire conditions can generate some more thunderstorms like it did today. Obviously lightning isn’t good but I heard it got some rain to drop.

Definitely crossed 330… up above the lower passing lane. Footage from between the middle and upper passing lanes shows the area around and above the middle passing lane is all burned. Good news is that there are helos flying tonight dropping retardant and hopefully can stop the spread before it gets to RS and Arrowbear.

Sounded like all air support was grounded due to weather up until about 17:00 or so, This is second hand from My Nephew So I could be full of crap.

We noticed this on flight radar. There were no heli's for a while. I was thinking because of the heat.

Alright all you inmates up here. They just put the rest of the mountain on Evac Warning.

Arrowhead, Twin Peaks, Crestline, Valley of Enchantment.

At this point I’d be gathering everything to go and get it by the door, or in the car. If it goes to Evac Mandatory there’s going to be a boat load of traffic heading for the exits.

Stay safe all, this night is getting serious.

We already saw several STRs pack up and leave.

That's a shitty deal having to figure out what to take and what to leave. We got close in Hesperia one year. Had the truck loaded up and pictures of everything left behind.

The general idea is leave what the insurance won’t mind replacing, take what they won’t or can’t.

But yeah you can’t fit everything in a car sometimes.

No update this morning. The weather is supposed to start getting cooler this week. Hope the winds blow it back where it came from and starve it of fuel.

Yup, grabbed the drawers out of the filing cabinet, boxes of photos, guns, ammo and things to survive while the insurance drug their feet. Never left the driveway, thank God.

Just took a drive up to the 18 closure at Skyforest. Fire is a good distance off, you can see how the hill that has the 330 on it is smouldering but it doesn’t look like anything active.

This morning it seems like it’s heading south/southeast, Watch Duty says they put Angeles Oaks, Mountain Home on a voluntary evacuation watch.

What I definitely didn’t see was any aircraft. Maybe it’s too smoky or they are off chasing down the advancing fire line elsewhere.

ETA: I don’t have the pro level on Watch duty to see the fire aircraft, but Flight Radar shows only one water dropping Chinook and one spotter helo. They are covering the western border at the 330.

That's a frame-able picture for the station, it's a devastating fire but an absolutely stunning/beautiful pic

I think that pic was from yesterday.

But still a stunning photo of nature reacting to the fire weather.
probably, He probably pulled it off the internet,
With the damn lighting strike in the pic is wild.

He did say they still have electricity, so they haven't dumped the three lines up the mountain yet.

I have relatives in Cedar Ridge as well. The last substantial fire went to the east of Cedar Ridge and wiped out Hook Creek part of Cedar Glen. Seems the fire department treats Cedar Ridge with kinder hands, but we all know those fires are unpredictable.

So with the 330 being completely closed, and the 18 is closed from Big Bear Dam to Skyforest, if this pushes at the 38 and causes it to close, the Big Bear community will be left with only one road out, the 18 to Lucerne.
