I honestly don’t remember where I was?
When I woke up I was 23 years old, not to be confused with yesterday when I was 22
I learned Ol Sam wasn’t around any more.
Pretty sure we were on that highway the night before? Or 2?

He was a one of a kind guy. His humor was fierce and loud. 👍

Sam was AWESOME, such a unique person, bible belt devout person then transitioned to coked out voice of reason! My better half's family was in town and at our home a couple weeks ago and I played a little SK for them. They are a decade plus younger than me but totally understood his humor. I loved his direct humor that was based on his life experiences. He was in a good spot in life when he was killed.

Jesus, look, eclipse!

I was on call. I investigated the accident and spent a lot of time drawing a diagram of the scene. Lots of recorded statements etc. Spent five years as about the only insurance adjuster from Yuma to Bullhead. Sad accident. Learned a lot as a multi line adjuster at the river. Kept my water ski in my truck and got lots of rides at the end of the day.

Wow, SK was a huge influence on my take on life and RDP has provided a granular level of detail to the end of his life..

I was out in that area, headed to Havasu, at the time of accident. We came across a bad accident. I wasn't driving, so I don't know exactly where we were. First responders were on the scene, so we didn't stop. I have always wondered if that was Sam's accident.

Saw him 3-4 times at Trancas in Malibu, so funny and actually really personable.

He parents had a church in Tulsa and he was an ordained preacher and could discuss religion beyond belief, but never forced it on anyone and was critical of it to an extent. A buddy knew him better than I did, but Sam was a witty, cool and a generous soul when in private. In a tee shirt and jeans and a cap no one really noticed him that much, unless he started that crazy giggle.

There’s a guy that occasionally comes on Stern that does an excellent Kinison tribute impression.

He did a Sam Kinison in hell tour that was really good.

Sounded more like Kinison than Kinison.
Those body counts must have been right, this place is full of gooks!”
“Oh oh ohhhhh Vic Morrows head!!!”

Same guy does Tom Arnold. Excellent and also really funny.
