Don’t see any signs of it happening. Although I won’t get close to the water it had some nice views at sunset this weekend. Stayed at fountain of youth rv park.

It's a by-product of the 5 Salton Sea Thermal Generation plants along with iron and sodium. 65.000 tons annually goes the tale if I remember correctly.
The latest brag from Musk is he'll be using less of it and eliminating rare earth and have a solid state electrolyte in his future Tesla’s 4680 tabless batteries.
It's what he said.

BTW: Rare earth ain't rare and in addition Lithium is the 3rd most common mineral on earth and NFW should EV batteries be so expensive.

BTW - BTW we'll be there Feb 23 for a few days. Post some trails you like. We'd like to try them too.

How was Fountain of Youth? Been curious about that place. I was up the road at GN on Monday/Tuesday.

Someone better wash that Can Am off quick, Salton Sea mud is nasty stuff.
Lost a couple Fox shocks to Shock Rod Pitting because I didn't get the mud off fast enough.

The entire area...the dirt is all corrosive. Its at sea level and ancient ocean remnants are the culprit.

I'd like to know to. We like to end our Spring break Glamis trip with a day or 2 at Glamis North to chill before the ride home.

The mining is actually a drilling rig. Kenai has had a rig there for a few years for lithium...south east tip of the sea is a major geothermal field we have been drilling for over 20 years...just never cared about the lithium!!

It is very nasty fortunately the mud was more toward glamis north so it doesn’t eat away at anything like the salton sea side does. I

I have one from glamis north all the way to Chiriaco and rice road if you’d like.

I prefer glamis north because if your solo fountain of youth is tight if you’re over 60 ish feet with a trailer. No way I could make it happen if my buddy didn’t have his pickup. I’m about 68 feet long with my enclosed and we had to drop the trailer. I like glamis north better to be honest because FOY was older folk you could tell didn’t want us there. Glamis north has 100 foot pull throughs. And the mineral spas at the end of the day are all the same.
