Not the way to start a summer, unfortunate it happened. I would bet some training should have been in place! I had some close calls like this, scary at times they think they are going to outrun the boat.😎

Know that area well. Boated the Chain during college. Anytime to you entering or leaving grass lake, you need to be very careful of traffic.

RIP to the girls.

That’s the odd thing about boating that no one thinks about. You’re in or on a rocketship with no seatbelts or brakes and no definitive traffic flow like in a car. Then when there’s an accident, you’re knocked unconscious and land in the water, usually face down and you drown within a few seconds.

Ive seen it a lot at Pyramid Lake. Then the parents were pissed off at me for yelling at them about letting their kids ride the 70mph SeaDoo with little to no instruction or understanding about what can happen. It still pisses me off.

RIP little ones.

Terrible to hear. The wife and I almost witnessed the same thing this weekend. We were heading up river from Pirates, when a pair of young teen girls riding double on a Seadoo cut right in front of a boat heading down river. How they didn't hit is beyond me. They had zero awareness of anything around them. Scared the crap out of me thinking about what I am going to witness, luckily nothing happened. I just hope the parents saw this and the kids learned something.

RIP kids, sad to hear once again. We see close calls EVERY SINGLE WEEK on the river, we cringe a few dozen times a day when the river is busy with kids not knowing how to navigate and never looking back when turning or crossing. Just all out sad to see a kid get hurt.
