'21 Rzr Turbo S 4wd wont engage. Drove thru the sand and found out I was 2wd only. The light on the switch on the dash will light-up but thats it. I check all fuses and they are good. Anything else I can check or troubleshoot. Only other thing I can add is possibly a gremlin causing problems because my Rugged m1 will not power up (powered straight to battery with switch on the gas). 696 powers up but not m1 radio. Everything was working, not sure when it went bad

The 4wd will only engage below 3000 rpm. Make sure you’re doing that first.

There could be a few issues causing this.

The 4wd engagement is in the front diff. An electrical charge to the diff charges a magnet built into the side cover which then creates "friction" with a drive plate against the magnet, forcing a roller and cage assembly to drive the front axles (very simplified explanation).

1. No charge or not enough charge going to the front diff. Can be checked by splicing into the wiring and checking voltage with 4WD switch turned on. I forget the required voltage, can be checked in the manual.

2. It's not uncommon for the wires going into the diff get pulled out. Inspect and make sure they are in good condition.

3. If voltage and wiring is good to diff, it's possible that the drive plate that makes contact with the magnet is warped and not contacting the poles of the magnet. This can often feel like 4wd is going "in and out", or not working at all. Would need to pull the diff apart and inspect/replace the drive plate. (It's a thin stamped out piece of sheet metal)
