Bundle it with your auto /home policy .
Fifth wheels are very reasonable. We have a older weekend warrior and I think it is $130 a year.Insurance for trailers is pretty inexpensive. I paid $220 a year or close to it for a 40' cyclone with State Farm.
Our 5th wheel was added to my truck insurance so was good on the road and added to the home when it sat there
Picked up a new to me 5th wheel and want to insure it. Educate me on who has good rates, the must have, etc
So far I have a quote from Geico.
Check Progressive. Our MH is insured through them and was better than the price if bundled with out auto and home (at a different co.) I do get a multi-line discount cause I insured my dirt bike also with Progressive.
Make sure the policy has contents coverage and towing.....People load those things up with 5-15K worth of TV's and other crap and that is typically not covered by a regular policy that covers your cars.
The liability for a trailer/5th wheel is provided by the policy that covers the truck. If you wan't the Trailer to be covered for comp/coll it needs to be added and I don't know of a single property policy that would cover a trailer while parked at home. (people often assume cars, motorcycles and other things in the garage or side yard are covered by there home policy and that's just not accurate....If that's what they say have them send you a copy of the policy jacket or show you the RV listed on the Home policy)
Sweet, I also recommend AAA+ with RV coverage for roadside assistance.
