my guess is the invasion will happen in the early spring when the weather conditions would be a factor and Russia is using the time now to get prepared. much like what China has been doing and would not be surprised at all if china moves on Taiwan at the same time, which reduces or military capacity.

at the end of the day, I don't think any level headed person WANTS a war, but you cant deny what is happening and to that end....i think if we do go down this road it wont be an easy task for russia or china.

we all remember the lopsided but kicking the Iraq war was......in the early days anyway. that was 20 years ago. our military capabilities have only gotten better. for all the people scared about what could happen, I don't see a huge military loss for the US.

Battles with proxy countries, backed militants from camel-burp-istan, I'd wager would be quite different than fighting two of the largest standing armies. If there is to be a war, God help us.
If Russia were to invade Ukraine, it suits them better to move forward sooner rather than later. Their military is more well equipped and better trained for inclement weather. Add to that, their close proximity to the front, and the limited ability to get a sizeable back up contingent to the Ukraine.
Taiwan, I don't know about. I see China being patient, and waiting until Russia has made a move. Not just for depletion of possible military strength, but to see what, if anything, the old man in the White House does.

Are our soldiers better trained and better equipped? I hope so. I don't think it is ever wise to underestimate an opponent. More than anything though, I'd never place my faith in our current leadership.

the reason for them waiting is to judge the resolve of the US.

if they would have simply gone straight in, I don't doubt there would have been a US/NATO response. by letting all this play out in the US media they can gauge what our response and the public stomach for it may be. if they get the sense the public is against it, Biden is weak and so forth to me that assures they will go in. why do you suppose nance has come out with her statements (kinda mind blowing really) that we have to recognize their borders. nancy is trying to shore up the publics opinion of our needing to go in so their corrupt banking isn't interrupted.

are our soldiers better trained/ready/ I doubt it. but are our weapons systems, aircraft, information technology and space systems better then ever? i am betting they are. and that's how this would be fought rather then a heavy boots on the ground WW2 type scenario.

Sorry but there is no way the US can beat the red Army on their doorstep. Their numbers are just too great on their home turf. Remember that every single transport plane and truck convoy would be attacked by Russian jets and missles. In fact, if they really wanted to escalate things in a hurry, they would hit our bases in Germany which would cripple our ability to make war. God forbid we tangle with them because there would likely be no winner.

Pelosi needs to go to hell...preferably soon. As with anyone else pushing it. The border talk is funny as hell...we've suffered a massive onslaught, and not a peep. Just keep taking care of them.

As for the technology, I used to think they were light-years behind. Then, they flipped a switch and temporarily blinded us. It shocked even the Pentagon. Do we have the same abilities? I'm pretty sure. Nobody is showing their hand. If they have functional hypersonic weapons, pretty sure we do. After all, how long did we keep the SR-71 under wraps from the public?

The weapons of war will constantly evolve. The end game is still the same, control. Be it of minds or land, control is what they want. How that is attained, I think we'll find out.
