America! Fuck Yeah!!! Been to many airshows, but this one was my favorite by far. It's been 38 years since we have had a show here and a generous member of the community along with a whole lot of others made it possible. Day started slow as the fog wasn't lifting. They need 1000' ceiling to fly. About 1pm the fog lifted and they ran the hell out of these planes. a very famous woman pilot and racer ran her biplane and her purple P51 as well as many others. Smiles and tears flowed throughout the day.

This skit was hilarious. They actually landed the Piper on the van while moving. A "giant magnet"pulled the plane in as Jethro mistakenly took off not knowing how to fly. The low level acrobatics were incredible. Looked like he dipped the wings within 2' of the ground many times.

The icing on the cake,,, Sunday afternoon several flew over my place through the valley on their way home. I was only able to get this one crappy video of the bomber, but the P51's running low above the river was magical.

Years ago my wife and I had the opportunity to go up in two P51's out of VN airport. A fellow by the name of Joe Kasperoff owned 3 P51's. I had a smile on my face the entire time I was flying. 51's and P38's are so beautiful. The planes we were up in named, "The Miracle Maker" and "The Healer".

I met Joe years ago when I was 19-20. He told me to come down to Van nuys and check out the planes. My dumbass never did. He had a 87-88 trans am with 410 sprint car engine detuned a little and a Nash 5-speed. Stupid car back in the day.
