Here's some testing before we went to the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. We were a little over propped. Would have liked to have turned a few more RPM but I am happy with the outcome.

Is this the same boat that had the #6 drive at DS? If so, why a switch in drives?

No. This is a completely different boat. The one with the #6 is running great. No issues at all.

Good to hear and looks like the SCX 4 with Cleaver is running great too. Do you have any pics of the boat in the video?

It's actually my personal boat we just repowered. Here are some pics.

Before the re-power what drive did you run and how do you like the Cleaver style prop? How does the boat handle with the new setup compared to the previous?

Thats correct, there is a cabin area down there. In Steve's boat its just open & plain. Ill get some pics of mine & post them up. It's well as Steve would say very fancy for a cat cabin.

YES! Is there a reason that I shouldn't be?

no, i think you have every reason to build for a customer, jus asked cause we have not seen or heard of any new build threads from ya lately is all...

No offense taken just thought it was an interesting question. We just built a couple that are out west. Including the one that has the SSM6 drive that is responding to questions in this thread (NM Bullet). I guess I'm just not the bragging type enough!!:D

Actually, before it was running a naturally aspirated 565 with an IMCO SC. It would consistently run 114 and was a little loose due to drive height and setup. Now, it is so hooked up that there is litterally no difference between running 90 and running 130+.

The drive height could stand to go up about 5/8" which would probably pick it up a bit but it is so stable that I don't think that it is worth it. I am still playing with props and gears. There is definitely more there. The 565 was still in the boat 2 1/2 weeks ago so we were kind of in crunch mode. Most of our friends told us we would never make it to LOTO. We actually were ready 3 days early but that's not enough time to do a gear change back and forth and be comfortably ready.

The 26s really looked good on the 1 mile course at LOTO. Nice, smooth, effortless runs, and extremely fast too. Sweet boats, for sure.:thumbsup

Thanks to everyone for all of the compliments!! We are still dialing it in and may try a gear change after Cumberland.

As far as headers, they are Sport Tubes. The Big Tubes wont make the turn that we need in a Bravo style setup. Too close to the transom. Big tubes would probably help it rev on the top end. We are fighting an issue with the motor pulling like @#!! until about 5500 and then starting to lay over on pump gas (which is how we run it). We have not had enough time to really try to work through it so I'm sure it is something that we are doing since the dyno showed peak power at 6300. I really can't thank Rudy and Gary at GT Performance enough for all of their help.

We were going to do a build thread on the last couple we built but one customer did not want too much info out there. Then we got kind of behind on the next one and I was not going to sacrifice build time just to try to maintain a build thread. I did not feel it was fair to the customer. We are about to put one in the mold and I will try to start a build thread shortly (a month or so). In the mean time, here is a video of how we do Vaccuum Infusion on all of our boats. It really is a very cool process. It is hard to explain to people so we did a quick video that really helps people understand it.
