OH MY!!! On my trip to the river, two weeks ago, I stopped in at ROC's to grab a bite. The place looks really good. Nice atmosphere (Fire Dept Theme)... a few big screens... good beers... nice view... lovely and talented bartenders. I guess they have bands play there, too. Ordered a Fire Rock Pale Ale and a Blu Cheese Burger. In walks Denny and Mrs SkySkier and another board member, Andy, with Mrs, and lil munchkin. HOW random is that? Normally I would be doing 90 right past this exit...anyways... The burger is GREAT! I've also had the Tuna Melt, Fish and Chips, and this last time I had the Ground beef soup?!?!?! HOLY CRAP was that good! NEEDLESS to say... I returned on the trip home. I went this last week on my way to the river... yep... then again on my way home. Which I heard Roc was at the river?!!?

I got to meet ROC... Andrew, he does exist! Talked a lil bit. I guess Roland was in the Fire Dept for 22 years, which explains the decor. Fire Engine red walls, Hoses, hydrents, photos, helmets, boots, etc... And now he does something else he loves to do... cook great food!

A long story shortened up... This is a GREAT place to stop in and stretch! Grab a bite... your almost to the river. There's gas across the street. C'mon people!!

ROC... thank you, VERY MUCH!

You have to try the Chili Quesadilla.. I don't swear by much, but I'll swear by that. Trust me.

We went on Saturday to watch World Cup. Great food and drink.... and you can see the how much the owner's care about the place - even when they're enjoying a much needed break at the river. :D

Question - where is the nearest diesel? It's nice to fuel the truck and the belly in one stop. ;)

Was there again 2 weeks ago, waitin to see the smokin bartender. I think ROC's wife was there but she seemed pre-occupied out front with the PO-PO, seems to me a non-related construction type truck hit a car in the parking lot, seemed abandoned to me. Anyway, food was off the hook once again. Beers ICE COLD!!

It was great meeting you :D

Thanks for the good words. :thumbsup

If you're really hungry you gotta try the Scampi, or Penne with Vodka sause, or the ribs or.................:D

I really appreciate you coming in. Summer is the off-season for us so we can use all the business we can get at this time of year.

The closest diesel is right across the street at the Mobile station.

Thanks for coming in:thumbsup:D

Thanks you all for the good words. Like I said earlier, summer is our off-season, but, our bills and rent don't stop. Jayme and I, and the servers-bartenders too, really appreciate you all coming inand supporting us. It really helps us out:thumbsup

PVHCA and Old man Havasu, sorry we missed ya.

Not to let the cat out of the bag, BUT, I'm currently working on some sort of "loyalty card" for all the RDP folks. Not sure exactly what it's gonna be, but, it'll be along the lines of a certain discount, or buy 9 meals and your tenth is free or something along those lines. It'll be a credit card type thing that you keep and each visit you present it to the server and she'll swipe it for your discount. Stand by...........:D

Im going to try and talk the wife and kids into a road trip. Maybe throw a day in Havasu as bait. This would be over 300 miles out of our way (to and from) to come eat here. To many posts about the people/food. One condition though... When we come... we want to meet the man not the myth. So Roc what does your schedule look like for the next two weekends?

Maynard says we're hitting Roc's for lunch on Thurs in route to the river.
He wants the bartender to save herself for him until he's 21.

So,, that's 11 MORE years. :D

We were looking for a Breakfast place last weekend, Rocs opens at 11:00, we were ready to eat at 10:00, I couldn't convince the group to hang for an hour and get a Truckee for Breakfast... :D
