So this is just something I've been thinking about. More of a heads-up than anything. I have a place at the Landing. Because of location, I buy almost all of my fuel on the water. Riviera is the cheapest, so I've been going over there. I love that you can power all the way to the breakwater before you have to back down. Anyway... got me to thinking as I am now crossing the traffic coming both ways: from and to Thompson Bay. Previously, I would've never crossed there. Also, on Labor Day weekend we had that monster monsoon (MonMon?) and there were a ton of boats motoring together towards the Channel from Steamboat. Even with the Marina as new as it is, there were boats crossing in front of me trying to get into the Riviera. This scenario is not gonna end well some day, and just thought I'd throw it out for discussion.

turn signals and tail lights on boats?? where are you headed with this? its no different than out front of Windsor . people have been criss crossing each other for years there. Out front of site 6 Saturday afternoon is another Beauty of a cluster fuck. The Riviera is new for sure , and is like a new traffic pattern on the road.. Anyone running up or down should have the common sense to stay off shore a couple hundred yards.... but we know common sense is not so common. Last thing we need is more regulation.

There’s already a LEO marina there as well

That it's new and people get used to stuff, and then they do stupid stuff. Kind of a PSA. Also, way narrower than WIndsor as traffic can fan out more.

Yeah, but waaaayyyyy less traffic. Maybe I'm all wet, pun intended., but seems like the fact that people run hard there, and at the end of the day (like Windsor) will bring new issues.

I predicted there'd be some cross traffic issues in that area the moment they announced the marina/riviera project.

Jet ski's have been my only issue....for some reason they want to fuck around right at the entrance to the marina.

All solved when the Thompson bay no wake zone is extended to copper canyon, then to Steamboat,, then to Black meadows...etc....
Hopefully just a bad joke

When, not if, something bad happens in that area they will surely add a no-wake buffer zone.☹️

During the drivers meeting at the RDP regatta, the LEO’s mentioned the cross traffic there. They pointed out the LEO boats have the right of way and to be careful in that area. Thought it was good of them to point it out, it is definitely an area to be on your game.

There should be absolutely NO issue at all - There are navigational rules that dictate exactly how to make a crossing and who has the right of way...

Oh that's right, NOBODY knows or follows the fucking rules.

Not withstanding the RDP folks - they know everything.:)

IDK.... Think about site 6 . That is on a blind corner , narrow water way and its free. (meaning it might be more attractive to the newer folks) There has been many a close call and some direct hits out there dating back 20+ yrs that I can recall. The close calls are any summer day and im sure many of us on here can tell a story or 2 about that one time... My point is there hasnt been a change. I think as the regular crowds acclimate to the new traffic patterns it will be another area of defensive driving... the 1st timers wont know any better and will be the folks to watch out for.

The PSA your shouting is great!!!
