San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy Hector Cuevas Jr. has been identified as the victim of a deadly crash that happened during a pursuit in Victorville, California, on Monday.
A six-year veteran of the force, the Cuevas leaves behind a wife and two children.
Sheriff Shannon Dicus says the pursuit suspect, a 22-year-old San Bernardino resident, is in custody. The exact circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation, but that the driver of a second car also involved in the crash had to be hospitalized, according to the sheriff's office.
