Figured this was coming. He was looking real old last time I saw him.

Many don’t know that he wrote the song Bobby McGee. He specifically wrote it with the name Bobby to give it ambiguity when a male sang it. Then Janis Joplin covered it but I actually like KK’s way better.

Great artist and performer. Kindve a sleeper. Waylon and cash and even orberson were super stars. KK was always kinda chill. Wrote a shit ton of songs. His voice and style of singing really has to grow on you I think. When I first heard him sing I was like, WTF? But he is a fantastic artist.

I’m an old school country guy when it comes to music. For my money, he’s an all time great songwriter.

Had the pleasure of seeing him live at The Canyon in Santa Clarita about 10 years back. It was just him and his guitar, and he was truly great. His voice was never his strong suit, so it didn’t matter that he was in his late 70s.

… In addition to being a helicopter pilot… He was a Rhodes Scholar… A super intelligent guy… I think his early college days were in Pomona, California

… Late ‘60’s…I spent quite a bit of time backstage at the Whiskey with his then wife, Rita Coolidge… I honestly can’t remember whether they were a musical duo then or not…
… When his first album came out… I truly did not get it… But as time went by and his song writing evolved… I really got it… A brilliant creative mind…

Sunday Morning coming down...which Johnny Cash recorded &was the Country music song of the year.
That song just flat out resonates with me.

There is no better version of this song, they nailed it on the Whistle Test. Coolidge has the voice of an Angel

To this day I still don't know how a "man's man" can pen such words. I think Anita Carter sang a better version, but dang...
