RIP Don Taylor

I figured some of you guys in the ski racing community might know him. Passed away in his home shop in Upland this morning.

When I saw the name, I was hoping it wasn't the same Don Taylor. Sad to hear. He could really ski back in the day and was always a very nice guy.

This sucks to hear. He was my dad’s best friend. Went bike riding with my dad, we’d bring him up to arrowhead and out to Havasu for waterskiing. We have a lot of ski stuff from him.

He was a great guy and had lots of ski racing stories from all the years. He even announced when I was helping run Region 2.

Had him over for thanksgiving a bunch.

My condolences go out to his daughter.

Crap, that is not at all the way I would have liked to have heard that news! We did a lot of skiing together at Puddingstone training for races.

What a bummer, I’d see him working with his dog in the field by my shop quite often. Hadn’t seen him in a while out there.

Hi all, an update for this thread. I just got a call from his daughter.

If anyone would like to have her number and call her to offer any assistance with Don’arrangements, please DM me.

Per his daughter, she believes Don died Wednesday night in his sleep from a heart attack.

She needs help with expenses for his funeral, and cleaning out his shop. So if anyone can spare some time and/or money to help, it would be a huge boost to her.
