Quite good, with a sharp entry and reasonably deep deadrise. Some 28s have a ballast, making them quite good in some chop, the narrow beam helps too.
The 25 is very good in a chop, especially compared to some others and considering it's easily the fastest in that size range.
A Chaudron 25 is among the best in that size in rough water, but not as fast, although still fast.

Again, always a trade-off. Many 24 degree heavy offshore boats aren't that fast power for power, don't handle that well, but can run well in rough water.

Like Ace Ventura, "I'm a lover of all animals." (Boats)
Thanks for the reply, good info for all.

To call that Tuff a 'Production Boat' is a stretch, just like almost all true high performance boats, other than the hull everything is unique, there are no two alike. That being said, the hull itself might even have post mold bottom work done to it as well. Most boats running those speeds do as it's very hard to get the ideal shape right out of the mold due to shrinkage and sag.

Throwing a rear bench in an Ausie ski race boat make it a production boat? there is no distinct difference between the two in terms of manufacturing or rigging.

148 is hauling the mail, no doubt, that is absolutely fucking hauling ass, and very impressive on its own. But it's not the only one capable by any stretch.
An "aussie ski race boat" with a 5 passenger interior and 1100 HP probably isn't besting 148 MPH, even being significantly smaller. Not sure what you mean in respect to "production." None of the boats mentioned would be considered "production" from my perspective.

I do love some of those Australian boats, particularly the Force outboards. I'm not sure a Force 21 can keep up with a Tuff 24/25 with the same power though.

Production was a reply to someone else's comment

I never understood trying to get big #'s out of a V. If you want to go fast get a cat.

The design approach requires a driving skill. Some people have no interest in learning it and others love the experience of flying a Vee.
