That is a 20 really called a 204. That boat will haul the mail with that big motor on it. I bet the ass end sits really low in the water.

I put money on it.... If the Schiada could only spend the same amount on the motor as the outboard :D

Can a 204 handle a 300 optimax vs the promax?

I rode in Rayzor's Stoker with a 300. It ran pretty good in the Delta.

I know nothing about outboards, but that engine on the back of the yellow boat looks enormous.

The 20.4 with a 300 is a pretty nice combo. It's a little heavier than the 20 and can handle the weight better. Is it a re-rig, or did he just buy it, and is it a 300PM or X?

What would the scale/ratio be if that whacker had a dual jet drive as a lower?

Tough to tell.

Never been done = cool...
Stupid fucking idea = uncool.

I would say the cons outweigh the pros, and it's undeniable that a combination of outboard and dual jet is enough to mandate estrogen reduction surgery.

Nice numbers. My buddies (RIP) old 20.1 Stoker made 300 hp and it ran in the 95-97 with two people in it.

QUOTE=DLow;1665337]So does the dyno'd 349.7 hp v6 Evinrude on the back of my actual '20 Stoker make it a "Schiada killer" too???

Nope. That's just silly.[/QUOTE]

Shouldn't be too hard to find a schiada 20 with a 300 on it run them side-by-side.

The hardest part will be getting the schiada off the trailer....lol

This with a 300 would be a cool comparison

Thanks. Have been very happy with how it turned out. It was a long process but ended up being just the right combo.

I'll still take the Schiada whether it wins the "race" or not…
and if I had a choice of boats to go 100+ in I would still choose the Schiada. There is a huge "pucker factor" in a mod VP aired out I never got comfortable riding in one. To each his own. Nice boat, just not my style

Yes. We bought the boat with a 200. Sold the 200 and put this 300 on it. It's not quite buttoned up yet.

What is the weight difference between the two motors?

That thing looks huge and awesome strapped on the back.

Not sure about those exact motors, but the the difference between the 200 and the 300 optimax is about 10 lbs

I'm sure it's way fast but there's still something about 1000+hp through a transmission spinning a whining v-drive right between the driver and passenger that still a hell of a thrill!!

X2! This thread is just to try to ruffle a few Schiada owners feathers. The truth of it all is that a stoker isn't even comparable to a 1000+ hp v drive and 99.9% of the stoker owners out there couldn't even drive one!

Ad says 225? Is it now a 300? That thing should move pretty good. Be really cool to see that run with some equally powered stokers.

I have t seen the ad but I know it was originally available with a couple power options.. 225 being one of them I believe.

When I get it all buttoned up and "thoroughly tested", we will relist it with a new add and new details.

Merc really needs to make a short shaft 300.

The guys over a Calhoun Marine are making cut down 3L (and 2.5) mids that they are doing their own brackets and trim systems. They are losing over 70 lbs off of stock. They can build whatever setback into the midsection you would like, and also play with heights on top of cutting down the mid. Really nice work.

Downside is many classes require a factory motor. Take ski racing or example.

Haha. Look at that Daytona in the background.

Good eye!! I rode most of that day in a 21 Daytona with a 300. The 25 Daytona in the picture belonged to Deets (screen name) at the time.

Then the motor sits so high affecting cg and ultimately causing not so favorable handling traits. Shorter mid would lower all that weight. Resulting in a more stable boat.

See, that's why V-drive boats work so well........move that motor all the way down into the boat = CG goes WAY down. And, no mids to fuck around with..

:D

With RD in the boat, the cg is nice and low.
