Mine just sit now, collecting dust and taking up room. 😔

Moved to AZ, to the middle of the damn desert last year.
Used to live in SoCal.
10 mins from the best canyon riding in the western states. (IMO)
But
Now they just sit.

Ol' lady wants me to sell them.
Sadly, I can't see too many reasons to keep them either.

No place to ride without traveling 2hrs to get there first.
The sun may have set on my streetbike days.

Gay!!!

I started (in my early 20's) with a 600 Katana, then a 750 Katana, then moved up to a CBR1100XX. The CBR was insanely fast, but it was also very comfortable to ride. My Dad is a Harley guy, and we took a trip from Dallas to Breckenridge Colorado one year, with some of his Harley buddies as well. He still talks about that trip, I topped my bike out on a long highway stretch in New Mexico, once the Harleys caught up my dad asked how fast was I going. I told him, he just shook his head 🤣 I used to mess with them and ride by the group with the front tire pointed at the sky. I sold it after having a few close calls, almost rear ended a car going triple digits, that scared the piss outta me. Ya, I was "that" guy.

I've been riding some fast bikes in the past since 1965, got battle scars to prove. The last fast bikes I rode were Hayabusas.

I stick to track driving cars where it's predictible what other drivers will do. Lived to 77, not chancing too much on the streets. By a bike to ride that's relaxing. Having a superbike is always enticing to goo way too fast, even at my age, lol

Just crashed this one, busting rear left suspension and broke one wheel. Walked away!

I've always wanted a 'Busa, and still get the itch. They are beautiful bikes! But I know how I am and haven't made the mistake of buying one
Not a track bike but great for cruising long distances.

Back in the 80's when the rockets first started appearing I had a GS550e. It was pretty sporty for the day. Then the Ninjas and FJs came out and the whole genre got popular. Sold it when I got married. They passed the helmet laws and my hair wasn't having it!

I have owned a streetbike of some type ever since I bought my first one in 1998...I only had GSXR750's for the most part until my last bike I ended up with an R6 which I still have in my garage to this day....I havent rode it in about 7 years though....I just have a hard time getting rid of it because I know I will never own another one, and just one day I might want to ride again....

My old saying was Dress for the Slide, not for the Ride!

My Stepdad was a Harley guy, was ridin up in Colorado with my mom on the back. A truck with a gooseneck trailer made a left turn in front of them head on, he pushed my mom off the back and laid it down and slid under the trailer. Luckily it was a taller trailer, but it shattered his femur hitting the trailer axle, he was in rehab for over a year. Mom only had some road rash. That was also around the time I sold my bike.

Why not ride a bike on the track? Seems more fun, less costly than cars.

It's my excuse for hanging on to some of my gear.

I occasionally think of building a track-based 250.

Or maybe a Grom? That would be fun.

I have a collection of bikes. Don't ride them as there are too many idiots. They do take up less room than the cars. I have thing for 80's liter bikes. I have 2 Cbx's and 2 gs1000-1100's. Still want a 89-90 Fzr1000 just because and or a gsxr1100 of the same era.

Have you hit Tortilla Flats and the Salt River Canyon? SRC is a riot if you hit it as the suns coming up. Get 2 solid hours of riding hard and near death experiences before the traffic will show up.

Lots of track days in your area. Race Glass and a set of stickies, you’re dialed.

I had a couple after high school, first was a 93 600 Ninja until I blew the motor and then I bought an 03 636 ninja and it was bad ass. For got lucky more times than I can count. I remember one that haunt me. My buddy bought a used 600 CBR down in Ontario and he was brand new to riding so he asked me to drive it home for him. Some jack ass in a Turbo PT cruiser got pissed at me for letting my buddy merge instead of him and tried to run me off the road, he went nuts on me and almost rammed me a few times so I opened up to just lose him but he wasnt having it, if I didn't maintain over 100 he would catch up and do it all over again, so finally I figured just lose him and pull off the next ramp, hammered to create a good gap and then as I was slowing down to exit I hit a rough patch near sierra on the 15 where the road was horrible and got the wobbles going over 90 on a bike that was not mine and I had about 20mins of seat time, I dropped a gear and pined it and pulled the front off just enough to get out of it and drop down on the smooth side of the road. I honestly never shook it and still think about how differnt my life would be if I went down, if I survied it.

I didnt last much longer maybe a few months or so, ended up buying a house and I knew it was a matter of time before something bad happened on it and wouldnt be able to pay the mortage so I sold it.

I have the rice without the rocket, Honda 1100 & a 125 scooter lol, I often think about getting another rocket for the juice it gives you turning the wick, but at 62 I think I'm good with the ole Honley!

Someone told about SRC.
But
I should have mentioned.......I'm in the booming metropolis of Buckeye.

I don't think I could get any further from a Canyon if I tried. 😔

Those Canyons are just a little too far of a ride to get to, with my old ass!

Had so many closed calls riding, I ain't going to push my luck on a fast ricer now. I temporarilly stopped riding ricers [ 1986 Honda 750 Interceptor at the time my son was born in 1989 ] and rode the old British ones for most of the time. At 77, if I brake bones , it would be a hell of a long time healing now.

I moved from Phx 3 years ago. I’m almost positive they re opened AMP, which is a race track by Luke AFB. Could always tape up the lights, throw on the leathers, and let her eat.
