Dave built some killer stand up JetSkis back in the day. Some killer times hanging out at Snug harbor and riding skis out through the lagoons and trying to keep up with Randy Lane in the surf. Today they would fucking arrest you for doing it.

ok we are zeroing in now, I lived just above snug harbor up on Highland, Rode skis with Randy did the crystal cove to open water a few times along with Greg De Thomas, moto'd with Dave's brother Rolf, did you know Huffman, Schlimmer, Heart, Watts, Stewart, Sawerski, Reese?

We used to ride our bikes down there when they first built it after our every Saturday Pickup Baseball game at Valley Jr High! Do kids still play pick up games?

Very few are the people I run intro in my work around the Southwest that when I mention Carlsbad, they don't reply...I love that town or I wish I lived there.
I guess that is what happened to our Home.
I'm sure just visiting, the sticker shock and attitudes of some of the people is gotta be tough to take.

AHHH the High School track ...the Day my brother and Jeff Springman flattracked it on their dirtbikes at Lunch was a good time and then when my brother Hot Lapped it in his Baja Bug his Senior year and the cops showed up at the house and waited for him....Classic
Of Course I was no better ...There was the time Officer Shipley chased Dave Hops(Trans Am) and me(lowered 74 Chevy Cammed and headers short bed) from the High School to La Costa and couldn't catch us till we parked off of Alga...Good story to tell over a beer!

Had alot of fun with Jet Skiis back then!

Funny, I made the comment that I haven't been to Havasu City very often and I am going there tomorrow!
They are celebrating 40 years of the Jet Ski World Finals in LHC and invited back all the guys they could find who were there and competed.
It'll be fun to see them after all these years.
Haven't seen my riders in 20 years at least.
Doug Silverstien will be there, 1981 was the third straight year He and I (as Tuner) had the #1 plate for Jet Ski Racing.

Last time I saw Randy Lane was in Havasu up in the gorge in the late 2000's (before it was a no wake zone). I was on a beach and he came riding up on a ski. So weird running into to the guy out there on some random beach...

Just had Lunch with him at the Beach Break cafe.
I built all his Skiis in the early years...He's an amazing talent in the surf!
Still rides most every weekend out of Oceanside.

I hopped up his Ski for him and then it got stolen off his dock in Bristol Cove like 2 weeks later!

He is my biz partner now in Havasu and lives 5 houses away from me, I got him to move out here full time 4 years ago, I sell and design the houses he builds them. good team the two of us, I let him know tomorrow we are busy Saturday

Interesting. I raced in the world finals for 10 years straight. Actually won one year!
Spent a lot of time with Randy riding in camp pendleton. He helped initiate one of my first sponsor when he was employee one of 2 at spy

No I was was the kid that lived in the big white house on the edge of the middle lagoon across from the parrot house that is now all papagayo. The YMCA jackoffs use to call the PD all the time on me like the owner the water.

I hear ya, took the family and our dog down to dog beach in Solana early summer. Dogs everywhere off leashes as it should be and has always been. The wife took our off the leash for seriously a fucking second and a got immediately ran up on by a lame beach cop. Wrote me up a $120 ticket for her being off the leash.. I was like don't you fn eyes see 40 dogs down the beach running wild , paying off leash. He says, I'm going to get them next. Fat Bastard walks right past all of them. Man I was pissed!!
