Just an FYI, debated before.

enforce the laws already on the books.
family owns property on 2 lakes in WI - both lakes have a HOA and now have rules limiting wake, size and speed. Puts me in a position that my boat is now illegal on both lakes and no grandfathering allowed. So, I can’t support additional laws, when we have laws already that state you are responsible for your wake.

However, after running Topock to Needles and coming across 2 surf boat at full ballast without a rider, I am over it. These operators need to be educated and held accountable for their wakes, which is not occurring today!

The "Newberg pool" already has a very specific set of limitations and guidelines for towed watersports.

Thats our home stretch of water. We avoid weekends now as it has gotten super congested. On Saturday the ramp parking lot was full by 9:30, people leaving tents, shades, and anchor systems set up for days at a time on one of the usable beaches... Surf boats outnumber everything else by 5:1. I don't buy into the "Wakes damaging docks and shorelines" stuff in an area that has seen flood waters 28' above normal levels but they sure are a pain in the ass.

The thing I ind the most interesting about the pool regulations is that there are areas that the only activity allowed IS surfing...

Going to be interesting to see where this nets out.

remember when jet skiers had their own areas to ride in?😊
.
Frankly, full ballast runs by these boats sans riders should be dealt with in a manner that can appease most. Funny part is I can't say I've seen two surf boats throwing wakes in the same area, probably for the same reason most of us avoid them.😆

I hate wake board boats on the river. I wish they were only allowed on lakes, but I won't sign a petition out of fear of opening Pandora's box to other restrictions or retaliation from wake boat owners towards performance boat owners. Doesn't matter if we are in the 19' tunnel or the 25' v-bottom, it sucks balls being behind one on the river.

Just run down to the springs area (Black meadow to the bouy line) on any weekend! Saturday there were at least 6 of those fuckers out there, most full ballast pull'n skiers! -- It was the most fucked up I've ever seen it! -- Two of the CocSucks run'n right down the middle!

Yeah, hit a few huge rollers not far from pump station😳😠 They also use the area between BM and Steamboat on the Cali side.

The problem is the dealers are telling people to fill the ballast up when you launch the boat and drive all day full of ballast.

Two dealers said this and I said thats why everyone hates these boats when they drive by.

This is the same banter that happens with jet skis vs boats and UTV’s vs MX and real off road vehicles. At the end of the day the almighty dollar wins and you’re surrounded by them. At the same time, you’re opening Pandora’s box with other boat issues like 100+ mph boats only allowed to go 35 mph on the whole river / lake due to regulation change. There is an asshole behind the wheel of every type of boat, be it a DCB or a Mastercraft.
I own a Hallett and a MB Sports wakeboard boat. It’s all about being responsible.

Just find a creature that lives at waters edge whose habitat is being destroyed by the wakes and then let them go to town saving said creature. Probably some weird hybrid scorpion-tarantula of which there are like 3 left in the world.

As stupid as this could be, even if there was some sort of rotating amber light when these boats were full of ballast would make a huge difference in others approach upon them on the waterways.

More regulations more problems!!

Everyone complaining about these wake board boats are just going to be bringing more regulations that are going to effect them also. Just don't complain about it when it happens.

I guarantee you after the wake board regulations, the speed and sound regulations are going to be right behind it, and fishing after. Get ready high horsepower boats and small v-drive/IO boats with exhaust coming straight from the headers.

Like everything education and enforcing not running with ballast while towing no one is the answer. The water ways are for everyone. Not just one particular group who doesn't like another.

If we cant get along they are just going to close the water ways. Just look at the thread about AB3030.

Just my 2 cents.

When I boated Parker and Havasu....... I too used to complain about the wakeboard boats. Then I moved to South Florida where I now realize that the wakeboard wakes are just a ripple compared to what a 30,000lb to 80,000lb flybridge Boat can put out.

The video below is mild compared to what I have seen that was not caught on video. You guys don’t know how good you have it!
