Paul I am the event announcer for the show...we need to put our heads together and make it special...RD and crew can help me..

Lou. My buddy is in the band Dry Heat and they are playing at the event on Fri. and Sat. I can get in touch with him if you want to do some sort of musical tribute.

Ok. [emoji26][emoji26][emoji26][emoji26]

Wow, I have enjoyed Carls comments and posts since joining RDP. I seldom post but this has really saddened me. I spoke with Carl on the phone, one time, about a year ago regarding a particular boat. Carl gave me sound advice which I haven't forgotten. It just goes to show how fast life can change. Rest in Peace Carl

I met Carl only one time at one of the Desert off road poker runs, he came up and introduced himself like we had known each other for years. I'd always looked forward to meeting up again and sharing a beverage, but that day just never happened.

RIP Carl, you are loved by many and will be missed by anyone that has crossed your path.

One of Carl's great traits was introducing people...he has a tremendous memory for both real names and board names...and he knew I was a cross over..he knew I was a lurker on RD's and resident smart ass on PB...he loved connecting me to RD people whenever I was at an event that involved both websites...Pink Taco, RD...Outdrive1, Nord,...Hammer..and on and on.

Something else I thought about today...his barber shop quartet people..he had a whole other group he played with also..I'm sure they are devastated as well as all of us...

I never met Carl, but I am very sad reading about this news. Carl was the first person to give me the "fuck off :)" reply when I first started posted on RDP. Rest in peace Carl. I will enjoy a whiskey tonight in honor of you

I just logged on for the first time since last night. I was looking to see an update on Carl...and was shocked to see this thread. I never met Carl, but it has been amazing to see how many people have been positively impacted by him. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with his family and friends.

so so sorry to read this. CC I will meet you on the other side.

"Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again.
Until we meet again, may God Hold you in the palm of his hand."

This is the guy I will always remember.

I will never forget our first damn dam run in 2014 and I was having problems with my boat. Carl was one of the people who text me and said to bring the kids, their life vests, a cooler and meet him at the ramp to ride with him. He said there was no way we weren't going to go. I ended uongetting my boat running and we parked next to each other and chatted for awhile that day, great guy and I enjoyed every moment.

This past year at the Dam run I remember him riding shotgun in Paul's 24 Schiada and they came over to where we were parked outside if Katherines landing and I will always remember Carl going....."heeeeyy Joe" as they pulled up. I feel so lucky to have spent time hanging with him during this last dam run. This year just won't be the same, but we will have to carry on for Carl.

Carl also came to me a couple times for mortgage help which was humbling that he would trust me to take care of business like that for him.

The last time I saw Carl was at the Enduro this year. I shook his hand and we chatted for a little bit up at the Bluewater Cantina.

Man.......I am really going to miss him. RIP.

Such a sad day... I never met Carl but I've been around this place long enough to know what kind of person he is and how he impacted the lives of so many here.
My thoughts are with his immediate family and all of his extended family here at RDP.

Rest in peace, Carl.

What can you say about Campbell Carl that isn't nice? Total class act. The last dam to dam run he was putting people up pouring drinks and making sure everyone was having a great time. I first met him at the Parker 336 Enduro a few years age. RD was trying to run the show and CC was off to the side where the bar is and ol RD said something and mentioned Campbell Carl and I knew I had to go introduce myself. He said , oh yeah I know who you are. He was just so cool. I ran into him at the street scene and he remembered me and told me it was his first time there. We had a great time. The last time I saw him was with Paul at the dam to dam run we were floating in the middle of lake Mohave. Thanks to Vic for printing these " non event" shirts. And of course to the man Carl Petersen for thightining the RDP community. RIP my aquatic brother ImageUploadedByTapatalk1455930136.038735.jpg

Can't believe Campbell Carl won't be around anymore. Seems surreal. This is a huge loss for everyone. I'm sure whether you knew him personally or not, you are shaken up right now. Really sucks! RIP Carl. We will miss you buddy!

Didn't know him personally but he was one of the first people to reply to me joining RD's and with helping figure out what motor I had in the boat. But as we all know the best of them are the first to go sadly....
God speed CC

This sucks. Im gonna miss our online back and forth bickering. I know we both enjoyed giving each other a hard time. I think he really thought he could get me to sell him my boat for $1,500. [emoji5]But when I've been with him in person it was all laughs. I gave Carl my old fridge that he brought to his river house. He came by my house to pick it up and we probably talked for 2 hours. Everything from boats, to RDP, to life in general. My only regret is I wish I could have spent more time with him. You will be missed terribly my friend.

Rest peacefully Carl

I really liked that guy. I really enjoyed his banter here. Its going to be strange not seeing him chime in on things that go on here. He is going to be dearly missed by everyone

I don't normally drink whiskey but I will lift one for our dear friend Carl and 6:00 pm tonight
