we have the same Whirlpool model. Been about 3 years no issues, $1599 on sale at Lowe’s. Damn water filters are expensive though. Like $45. try to reset before the wife notices and they last twice as long.
I use a by-pass in the filter since it's fed by my RO system.

Never ever ever ever again Samsung. Absolute trash. They cannot make an ice maker that works (google Samsung ice maker ) and their warranty is only 1 year.
Samsung is absolute garbage POS!!!! Their ice maker and cooling system is complete junk for $3k. A big middle finger to Samsung

I put all new Samsung appliances in when I remodeled 5 years ago, I think I have replaced them all at least once. Sold the house a month ago, new owner just called me to tell me the oven shit the bed. they look great, but really are shit. New house has GE Cafe appliances, we will see how they hold up. My mom still had a garage fridge they bought in 1975 that still runs strong along with a washer and dryer from 1984 that still works.

Bought a decent GE back in 1980. That thing moved with us to about 7 different homes all over the country. We donated it to Camarillo HS. They placed it in their athletic field house. Friends of our daughters tell us it is still there and working great. Amazing.

Our LG shit the bed yesterday😡
.
Reading stuff online shows they've had closed system failures and nightmare repairs. My regular appliance repair guy has seen it often. It went from working perfect to water running out of ice maker and no cold air blowing.
Which fricken brand has a life beyond 5-6 years nowadays?

Our 3 year old LG did the exact same thing a couple of weeks ago. Went and bought a Samsung in a pinch before everything melted. Hopefully I don’t regret that! They sure don’t make refrigerators like they use to. I have a 30 year old Fridgedair in the Garage that still works awesome. Doubt any brand today will last that long?

Because everything is made in China, Korea, etc built to break and throw away! I just bought a whirlpool side by side the biggest they make with minimal electronics they are still made in the USA in Michigan! I didn't buy another GE because they were bought out by a Chinese or Korean company a year or so ago, sucks because my current GE was good but just too small still working after 20 years only a couple minor repairs Ice maker and a sensor.

Oh yeah and fuck China lol!

Are all Whirlpools still made in the USA? I need a new fridge for the Havasu House and don’t wanna play musical refrigerators, lol.

Guess I should have figured after my fridge circulating fan took a crap after 2 years that the freezer fan would be up next. Guess I will have to stock an extra one of these too. Bullshit!

house was new in 1990, install GE monogram throughout, every thing has been replaced, some appliances more than once. the refrigerator, much to my amazement is still working great (sans icemaker) that quit 3 years in. 30 years and counting. I'd buy another. now that I've said it, it'll seize up today, lol

To bad in 2016 Chinese Haier bought GE appliance, I haven't a clue how this affected their previous quality. Interesting that Haier is or was the world's largest appliance manufacturer --- good or bad ?
