I remember the day a funny car did a big smokey burn out on Diamond st. I'll try to find a photo.

Back in 1984 I was in the Daily breeze paper with my sister, cousins and grandmother right around that area when they ran the torch in the 84 olympics. I think it was either cold or wet and we were all bundled up watching. Good memories

Nice! Good memories too my first business partner lived in that area I always liked it! Got my first nice car too at South Bay BMW, loved cruising up there

Not to far I’m in Torrance, Wife and I generally take a ride on Saturday Evenings to the Esplanade to watch the Surf, Dolphins & Sunset

Your 32’ ….. Do you go to “ Cruise at the Beach “ at the old Rubys on Friday afternoons? If I’m not going to the River I generally go hang out there on Fridays

The Red Impala is a 65’ SS up in the 1st pic …..Sometimes we get lucky and get a group of cars parked all together as we hang out people leave and we move into those spots

Im not a surfer but I recall people talking about it…

Never surfed it or Lunada bay to many locals, use to hit hags and ratts, was out one pretty big day at Hags, i pussed out and stayed way to far out to not get caught by a set but my little brother took off on a couple proper ones. Biggest wave I seen was the break wall one night , it was so crazy you would look over the wall until it turned black and start running down the road, white wash was rolling people and cars lol. I will never forget, this is at night mind you, drunk, my buddy decides to put a crab or lobster crate over the drain which is blowing when a wave comes in, he was levitating like 5 feet in the air until he wasn't then busted his ass real good.

When you get past tonys there was a gift shop with a Great white hanging on wall, my pops and i hung it on wall, great day working while we had fishing rods out window catching halibut.

I remember when they made the toilets that were next to the cheese on a stick and corn dog place pay to play. Never saw such a thing before that time.

How many Fire Chiefs did you have before the jump? Last trip there with Mike and Samantha. We left with a dozen glasses or so.

Quite a few, I use to dive all day for change to buy something at the little teriyaki stick place next to pizza place, no longer there, they had the best ones, the place when you get onto pier tried to copy them but not near as good, those were the good ole days. It was my moms favorite place to go before she moved to Idaho, I got tired of here watching tv on my mantle so I threw her ashes in right were I use to dive for change a few months ago, so now she gets to hang out at pier all day. fun fact ashes don't sink lol
