Some of the footage coming out of this war is extremely intense.. It's about what you'd expect to come out of a legit war zone, and something that no movie director could ever replicate. I spent a lot of time watching the videos coming out of UK awhile back and there are some that literally make you lean back in your seat and just thank god you aren't over there or living in a conflict of that sort.

It's absolutely horrible.. and drones have added an element to semi close quarter combat that is... I don't even have a word for it.

I think this is what Trump meant when he said he wants people to stop dying. I don't think this war would have happened if he was in charge.
I hope he is able to do what he says and have this deal shut down on the 21st. It’s a miserable war that should have never started and we as a country should have never sent BILLIONS to support Ukraine. The footage is miserable but you cant hide, nor should you, the horrible truth coming from them.

It's a proxy war, I don't think he's going to be able to shut this one down, but I suspect billions will not be funneled into Ukraine come 1/20. This Israel, Palestinian, Gaza BS, I bet that's over in a fucking hurry though.

I did see the previous end of the video. Both fighters were praising each other for their fighting skills. That is what I saw first and then the full video was started to watch by me. I could not finish it though

It was a....for lack of a proper way of saying it.....a professional respectful fight to the death. It was not animals fighting......

Why just those two?
The following is a list of ongoing armed conflicts that are taking place around the world.

Map of ongoing armed conflicts (number of combat-related deaths in current or previous year):
Major wars (10,000 or more)
Wars (1,000–9,999)
Minor conflicts (100–999)
Skirmishes and clashes (1–99

Honestly, I highly recommend watching the video in its entirety for two particular reasons. First being how ruthless war is and we should be thankful we do not have it here… yet. Second is how two warriors were able to see the humanity in the situation that they both were in. Fought to the end, and were respecting each other for the fight that had ensued. This being the difference of fighting mutually developed nations versus tribes in Afghanistan.

You're absolutely right. War always happens, some for thousands of years. I guess my point is, is America doesn't have to stick their nose in every single one of them.

Usually I appreciate your humor and light take on things....this one isn't one of them. There is a time and place. Do with that what you will

All good. I am desensitized with footage like this. Many of my close friends went to the second Iraq and Afghanistan wars. I saw a lot of this stuff on Liveleak while waiting to hear how they were doing. Like most wars, it gets forgotten about with enough time.

War is how we balance the Masses. 🤔
War is how we kill the masses. War has no winners when it comes to the commoners involved.

I'm reminded of Manfred Von Richthofen, the "Red Baron"...whom the Allied forces in France gave a military funeral for. They didn't like him, he'd made life hell for their pilots. He was respected though. Also a German, Erwin Rommel, during WWII. Allied POW's made statements after their being freed, of how he would talk with them, and fought them being sent to slave camps. He felt that was not honorable. He felt they were warriors, and should be respected. He also fought against being aligned with the Nazi party. He claimed to be German, not Nazi.

A neighbor kid growing up went to Iraq. He came home with a severe limp and a cane. He had a sticker on his car after that, that has stuck with me: "Support the Warrior, Not the War".

Spot on. The warrior does not have a say as to where or when they will fight, just that they will fight. Love your references. Along the same lines as the Christmas Truce in WW1 or the tobacco/coffee exchanges between the north and south in the civil war.

It seems there's always been a disconnect between a soldier, an actual warrior, and those in charge. Just like everything else, armies are made of people. There will always be those sick few that will draw blood just for the sake of doing so. Those are the ones that would needlessly hurt an unarmed populace.

"Honor", it would seem, is not something taught to the masses anymore. I don't think it's just an American issue, but here is where most of us will see it. It starts with boys in their youth I think. My son didn't play football this year, the line coach and him saw things "differently". When he, an adult, picked on a special needs kid, my son called him out. My son got punished. When my son laid out one of the "O" line players in practice, he helped him up, and apologized. The coach put him on the spot, and told everyone he was a pussy, and apologizing showed weakness. My son finished out the season, but didn't play this year. During this season, more than half the line quit.

Same coach has been really nice to my son now, he's a junior...and pretty big. My son says being big doesn't mean you "have to be an asshole".

Being a warrior or a soldier doesn't make you a killer, or inhuman. Those that choose to be monsters do so of their choosing. They can remain what they were, or choose to be something else. Once the change is made though, many spend years trying to find themselves again, or trying to forget.

If you listen to Tucker Carlson on his new platform (Tucker Carlson Show - Spotify) - I came across his interview with Jeffery Sachs Dec 16th, 2024. It narrates how we are now in 6 of 7 pre-planned wars mostly led by Israel's thirst for domination. It's pretty surreal the way the guest lays it all out. Next is Iran, with eventual war with China by 2027. yikes!

Have not finished it.

But it's so far worth the listen....
