RDP Regatta Sept 16-18!

Friday we are going to do a fun run to either pirates or the outer harbor at the springs. (Leaning towards pirates)
Friday night we will do our mini street show on the side of the hotel like we did at the last one. Putting that together right now, but it will be a nice showing of a variety of different things. Eliminator / DCB are confirmed. I’d expect to see one of the new Lux chase toons there and some other things that people haven’t seen before.

Saturday early morning we will do the helo shoots for the manufacturer’s etc. Same as we did last time.

Saturday mid morning we will do the helo shoots for all the participants before people make their way to the poker run stops.

Saturday I will have two or three poker run stops around the lake.

I am debating on Jist having a break for lunch so people can go where they want.. or possibly bringing both pm bandits bbq trailer down to rotary beach for everyone.. (if you haven’t tried that deal yet it’s out of this world good). I’d be open to input on that.

From their from an “official” stand point the card stops would close at 3:00’ish. What I’d expect is most people would head to the new sandbar / secret sand bar / speed alley (depending on what ya want to call it) to hang out for awhile before returning to LBR.

Saturday evening we have the banquet in the backyard it kokomos. Then what most people did after that was go and hang down on their boats at the docks..

Saturday night Jason @ Boom bandits will turn martini bay into club rdp again. .

It sounds like a jam packed couple of days but everyone that went to the last one will tell ya, it’s a really laid back fun vibe, and we aren’t on a strict schedule or anything

No.. lol. We actually pull permits and have insurance etc for this event. The cops will come and talk at the drivers meeting, but that’s about it.

Ok so we talked to the London Bridge resort and they added more rooms to the block with the group discount.

If you want a room at LBR it needs to be reserved before Friday! The hotel is crazy busy as well so I would reserve it sooner than later!

Getting pretty excited about our little regatta. Already have a few entries and sponsors comin together!

So I called LBR at 9:04 (4 minutes after reservations opened). Sent to voicemail. Called back about 9:15. Only one room left on the RDP block of rooms, 2 room suite, $415 per night .

You don't need to sell me on this - I think that late Sept/Early Oct is the best time to be on the lake. The crowds are gone for the most part but the water is still warm. It just doesn't work for me logistically this year with some business travel, otherwise I would be there. I think that this type of event appeals to a lot of people, especially those with kids.

Found out I need to be in Dallas for a customer Sept 13-16. Right now I have a 10pm flight home to SD on the 15 and another ticket for 4pm on the 16th.

was hoping to make this, but work funds the retirement account. If I fly home on the 15, I might show up and spend money at the alley party Friday, but going to pass on registering since I have no idea if I will want to drive to Havasu after 2 or 3 days in customer meetings.

We have switched to the 4am departure time when driving to Havasu.
Anything after 2pm and traffic from Carlsbad to Temecula sucks and my dog dislikes curves and mountain roads, so the backroads don’t work.
