I don’t think RDP is aging out. But in your opinion Dave do you see less younger guys say 30-40 who own boats compared to say 20 years ago?
I certainly see less. Back in the day, it was easy to buy a decent boat shortly after high school.

I paid more for my current “used” boat, than I paid for my first home.

I doubt you are going to see a lot of 21 year old show up with a 21’ Hallett, but back when I was 21, lots of young people owned boats. Heck in 1982, the year I graduated, I bought my first boat, that wasn’t my Dads, for $3500. As just a bit of serendipity, it just happened to match my Eddie Baur Bronco. It was a great set up. I was 19

I rarely post this……. But as fun as the above sounds, it’s hard to post that fun without remembering that my life had been devastated by my father’s massive stroke, my senior year of high school. He was 48…….. forever crippled and handicapped. Breaks my heart to remember……… So much misery.

Absolutely.. no different then owning houses,
Cars or anything else
Agree. I have a handful of friends but the rest don’t care for the expense of boating. I have almost 0 friends that are into old school muscle/trucks. It’s crazy to me.

Right out of high school I bought a 1994 20ft searay for 5k. That thing was the bees knees. It had to be 9 trouble free best summers of my life. Hanging out with friends boating from sun up to sun down thinking I was the coolest kid on the block. I am sorry to read about your dad. Strokes are no joke. Can change someone permanently in one second or episode. Not only physically but mentally.

I have question. Who in the 55 plus age group still have flattys or hydros or other, say small hot rods?
