We are going on this cruise in a few weeks, As Nord told me in the past “ Carnival is considered the Greyhound of the sea”. We have done a few of these and always a blast.
The 3 day weekend cruise, yes. 5 day is less so & the 7 day not in the same category for the most part. The hair color onboard gets whiter the longer the cruise.😁🧑‍🦳

DWC and Mrs. DWC are in.

And yes, it’ll be too cold to hang out at the pool. I’m sure this group will get over it. 😁

I think cold has a different definition for different people. 😉

I can tell from here...

This is mainly gonna be a booze cruise. The "Cold" will probably not be an issue. 😜
I agree but I bet it will be too cold to hang out by the pool

My wife and I have never been on a cruise. Will talk with the wife tonight about this and get her thoughts. Would be fun as a group.

This sounds like a blast. If the funds are available when needed...... I'd love to go.

This is the perfect starter cruise to get an idea of what it is like.

😊
My thoughts also.
It was my first cruise on a large capacity ship to test my patience around confined crowds as well.
Passed Muster😄 pun intended.😂

Me and wifey love cruises. We've been on 5-6 now. Been a few years now. We're due.

Can't stress enough...get a balcony. Besides having your own private outside view, the fresh air is worth the price. We usually leave slider door cracked at night. Feeling the breeze and hearing the water lying in bed is wonderful.

Gonna toss you a lob ball:
Is the hair color difference between short cruises and long ones because of age or demographics? 😁

We would definitely get a balcony.

Good. I've heard people say why spend the extra money for a balcony because you aren't in the room a whole lot but trust me, you're in there enough for a balcony to make a difference.

I was only in my room to sleep. The rest of the time i was out and about!

This is a Carnival cruise, remember? 😁

The only time I actually used the balcony was on the Alaskan cruise. Most of the other ones you don't see anything but water till u get there. But if you're claustrophobic a balcony is worth it

Good idea RiverDiva. We’ve done that booze cruise before, it’s fun. My only concern is this could be one of those “worlds collide” deals (reference to a Seinfeld episode).😁

This forum is the only one to which I belong. It’s mine, not my wifeys. Not sure I want to bring my wife into this tent of knuckleheads. I say this in jest, of course.

Would be fun to meet some of the other folks posting here. If we go, it’s C20 + wife. Call us 50/50 as of now.

They shuttle you in buses from the harbor to downtown.

I don’t do Papa’s. That’s for the college kids. I’m a Hussong’s fan (oldest bar in Baja) amongst a few others.

Took this pic a few weeks ago…

View attachment 1381616
… So I dove in the back window of Husongs and landed on someones table…Because we had parked behind the bar and I was too buzzed to feel like walking around to the front …Mr. Policeman thought that I should pay a $60 fine to him and then I should come into the back room… I got into a lengthy conversation with him in Spanish never paid him the $60 and he finally got frustrated and went home… Not sure exactly what I was thinking🤷🏽‍♀️..,

Water sloshing outside your state room is always nice. Pulling into port in the morning is a pretty cool view too.

Never been on Carnival. Royal Caribbean or Princess for us.

Carnival sux…. But if it’s a party your after unbeatable..

I’ve been on the bottom to the top and back.. for an rdp cruise I’d choose carnival. For a hoity toity I would choose princess.. royal a second but I haven’t been on royal in 20 years.. I heard it isn’t the same as it used to be..(not much better than carnival?).

We went in this one a couple years back. The comic called it the section 8 Cruise lol. Not too far off but like everything it's what you make it. We had a good time and we were solo since our friends that were going for COVID that same week. We did the brewery and pizza/tacos excursion and it was great. It was only us and one other couple, everyone else did the bar hoping. The beer was excellent!

I think my wife and I be down for this.

The food on the Carnival Imagination I was on was absolute garbage. I hope they have changed. Literally was hospital food. Even the sit down dinner. I guess I was expecting more?

My first and last cruise. If again, id love to do one of the European river cruises.

We are on Carnival Jubilee in a 3 weeks. The ships out of Long Beach are older, so don’t expect much, it’s a booze cruise.

I’ve done the Long Beach Carnival cruises a dozen or so times and never had a bad experience. It’s actually a lot of fun. Even tipping the baggage claim guys $40 to make sure my two or three bottles of whatever booze I packed arrives at my room unchecked is fun (it always arrives).

If you’re not boujie you’ll have a ton of fun. I’m not the type to sit around the pool and will never get in the pool as there is no wet footprints leading to the bathroom so we know that program.

The comedy shows and bars are fun and the casino is always a good time. Just have fun and anything else you hear about the trips is just useless noise.

Actually the Carnival Long Beach ships are some of the newest in the fleet.

We only do cruises with Celebrity. Only do cruises longer than 7 days. Never do a cruise with a water slide. All of that usually means no kids. The way people "parent" their kids is the reason. Also my wife has celiac and celebrity is very good about the no gluten diet.

I know this is a booze cruise with like minded people and would probably be a blast.

And the pool is just pumped in Ocean Water. Not refreshing one bit along with the piss. LOL

I actually laugh at these bars also in Cancun and the such. Never have to leave to piss!

Unfortunately the ones I’ve been on locally were not newer. Especially the one we boarded for a wedding heading to HI. Good thing we were just on it for the wedding / reception and left before it departed. Wow.

Vegas, same thing lol

I was at a pool in Vegas that was busy. Bartender constantly delivering buckets of beers to the poolside patrons. It was about 50 yards straight shot to the bathrooms…

Not a single wet footprint leading to, or a drop a water, on the bathroom floor 😂

Dave and I are planning an RDP Group Cruise. We are looking at Feb 27-March 3, 2025. We will be booking as a group and I'm trying to get an idea of how many folks are interested in joining. I'll put the confirmation date in here and we will have a room reserved for a private meet and greet. I'll also include the booking agent that will be handling keeping us all connected.

4 day Catalina / Ensenada out of Longbeach

Name/# of Party/cruised on carnival before?
Are we booking this ?

Just got off Carnival Radiance Friday. This was my second cruise. Hated the first. This one was a blast. Coming home with some of their cash helped in overall experience!! 😉 Catalina was great. Rented a golf cart for an hour and drove around the island. Had great wings at Lua Larrys and had bunch of beers at Marlin Club., which we had basically to ourselves. Steakhouse on ship was good and had thin crust pizza like every day. Heroes sports bar on ship was nice. Kids were in a regular view room with only a window. We had a suite with a deck (a must for me moving forward). Was off ship and to my Tahoe in 20 minutes Friday....

Something similar happened to us a few years ago. Alaska cruise out of SF. We’re posting pictures of us sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge and posting on FB. A guy we met and hung out boating on the Delta a few times was on the same ship. He was with his brother and their spouses.
We ended up hanging out everyday. Dinner together everynight. It really made the trip that much better.

That’s cool when that happens. Actually I was being a smart ass. We are going on the same cruise.

The family went on a celebrity 5-day cruise about 20 years ago. I wasn't 21 yet and there were only a couple places that allowed people between 18 and 21 in to drink. For us, the cruise SUCKED!! Nothing to do while at sea except gamble or go in the pool surrounded by grandmas and grandpas and being yelled at if you splashed more than a couple inches. I'll take a carnival or anything that has some attractions over that "high end" boring ass cruise line.
