if
not up for dicey, I gonna have to play nice with my wife in car or I won't be able to get her to go again. I finally got her comfy in the big dunes in glamis and now I don't have time to go, so havasu riding this season will be it this year... keep it simple with what seems like a pretty good size group (and growing), that will reduce odds of peeps messing up their shit and possibly holding everyone up. just my .02.
she was cool in the big dunes she will be cool anywhere in havasu....

It will easily be a 3-5 hour deal if I had to guess. I'm assuming once everyone goes to the cabins they are going to want to go further.

The biggest difference I think she notices, no trails in Glamis. She knows when I get off the trail in havasu, and we have found some of the rocks not as forgiving as da sand.

I want in on this. I'll ride my scooter and wait for you guys at the cabin :D. Any two wheelers want to go?
I might be up for this since if I am out my wife won't be with me, but I am not as fast a rider as you.

What's the lowdown on driving a CA registered SxS in AZ? Do the cops out there pay any attention to what plate you have? Or do they even care? I want to take the new Yamaha out there and do some exploring, but I don't want to get hassled for not having an AZ plate.

As a side note, is there a direct route from the Pirates Den area of the strip to the desert bar? If anybody has GPS files for any of these good rides, it would be cool if you posted them up.

We are staying at Pirates Den as well, we will be going from the gas station across from Castle rock out to the Desert Bar.

What cage is that? It doesn't even have seat belt keepers or a dual intrusion/v brace in the windshield?

Hey
We’re up for this ride also. If we ride there the best way is leaving from the south side and taking the power line road to Standard wash. From there it’s an easy ride down the wash with a small up and over a ridge. Then back into a wash for the rest of the ride.
All the people that were seen on Thanksgiving was a group of us that do a ride out there every year. The ride is called Datdr (day after thanksgiving day ride) this year was the 15th annual.

I’m in. My house is on the south side if anyone needs to unload a trailer for the ride.

That a trail throttle? Or are you guessing on google earth?

Just asking because i tried the google earth thing a couple times and some of the spots were literally impassible

If that is a trail that would be an awesome ride

If that trail goes thru the corrals it looks like the one we took over TGiving and it is an easy nice run. Dusty as hell though!

I'm in the middle of doing all the same, and I'm soldering and heat shrinking everything instead of just crimping it. Takes a lot of time, but it's good to know that it's done right and not going to come apart on a ride.

Soldering wiring for an offroad car is less than desirable. Solder tends to crack and break. Crimped and shrinked connection's are the only way to go.

That looks like the route from Standard Wash via West Mohave. IMHO - Middle Mohave on the other side of the Mesa is a nicer ride. The West Mohave going and the Middle Mohave returning works out well. The Middle Mohave trail begins near the old horse head water pump and trough, when returning.

You might look at the adding a second battery. I left my dual LED whips on for about 2 hrs the other night, and it pretty much killed the battery.

I am thinking one of you guys should lead the ride. Lol.

that is a copy of an un-organized ride someone else did. there were a couple spots that had small water falls (dry), we went around. I have never made it all the way to the cabin tho.

I say we ride from the human bean to the concrete plant (start of desert bash) and go from there. We’re talking an easy 50 mile round trip ride. I have the course marked on gps from the plant to the cabin I know others do too. If people don’t want to do that then meet at the plant and go from there

Well then we can meet down to the right of the cement plant in the clearing where they hosted desert bash.
