Interesting. Dave, I suggest that you get GD.com in partnership with the ASA, which has been the driving force behind why Glamis is still open. Without the ASA, Glamis would be closed and if it is closed, GD.com essentially becomes worthless.
Times were there was a group on GD.com who disagreed with some of the ASA direction and thought they'd go start their own group. All that really did was divide resources and when GD.com wasn't real successful in contributing to the fight, all that really happened was creating a divide in the community. When fighting these damn treehuggers who are very well funded, our side does not need to be divided.
I'm sure some will disagree with me, but the fact of the matter is that the ASA is by far the primary reason Glamis is still open. It is one of very few organizations if not the only organization that has successfully had closures reversed.
The enviros will be back to try again. There are also other BLM management considerations and strategies that need input from the offroad community. Hopefully you can bring GD.com around to be a productive partner in it all.
