Hey RD, are you doing anything with Monster Storm, like last year?

No I just did it the one time to help them kind of get it going after the transition..

I’m contemplating doing our own little deal on Halloween weekend. I’m wondering how many people wouldn’t be able to come because of the kids though

We did Halloween weekend and it's awesome!! Only problem is that a lot of the dirt folk go to Glamis that weekend.

Good [emoji16]. I’m plotting a camping trip on Mohave that weekend. If you were gonna do something, I was gonna reconsider.

Halloween bash would be cool!!

Your doing it? Man I've been nagging you to put something on for how many years and you forget to invite me! [emoji848] Or maybe you didn't forget. Lol

Do something at Blue Water so people can go to the Enduro too.

Lol.. I didn't forget. I put an event out on FB to the veterans to see what dates would work. The weekend of the 12th - 14th is most likely gonna be it. I just added you and Ductape on there.

I hate to point out the obvious but I think an RDP regatta would be wildly successful. I'm sure it's already been discussed. Hopefully it comes to fruition one day or another.

So is there a MB this year? Haven’t seen anything? One of my favorite trips of the year, lot less of the nut swinging / Rolex / matching crew shirt crowd then Desert Storm.

Yes Oct 12-14. I already have reservations at Nautical.

I agree, my favorite Havasu event of the year for same reasons, and a lot less pressure on the lake, actually get to exercise the boat without worrying about a bunch of traffic on the water. I just checked the web site and registration is not open yet.

I have not seen much promotion for this on Instagram or other venues. The date is approaching pretty quick.

I just sent Christina an email asking when registration will open. I will report out.

I will definitely doing something in 2019..

Honestly I was kind of thinking about doing several get togethers at various lakes, more or less hosted by one of the members that is familiar with the lake / river etc..

Parker
Havasu
Mohave
Mead
& Possibly Powell?

Making the main RDP regatta on Havasu, but the rest just kind of a "We are going here this weekend.. If you have never been it's probably better to go in a group" type deal. LOL

Still debating on doing a Mead get together this year actually but I'd have to get on it quick.

Thanks, you just helped me pick my costume for monster bash. It’s still supposed to be on according to Christina. Not sure if they’ve opened registration

Edit: They just posted that registration is open on IG.

I'd love to do Tahoe, but with the restrictions.. I think that'd be kind of tough for a travelling band?

RD
The only thing is the inspection/decontamination. It would be well worth the few min spent going through that to put your boat on the lake.

I don't think it's a few minutes.. I was under the impression they would quarantine the boat for 30 days etc?

I had thought if you show up with a dry boat (no water in bilge or outdrive) they would do a steam clean and then confirm you are good to go by zip tying your boat to the trailer - then if you lunch you have to stay in the water or get it recertified each day???

But I haven't done it - just what I heard???

Its around $100-150?

I don't live up there, and have never been. I was told quarantine deal, but who knows maybe you are correct?

So I got an email from Christina and in it noticed that the venue has changed from Nautical to London Bridge Resort, that sucks. I just changed my reservation to LBR and cancelled Nautical.

Since I have a semi big boat,....Is it a cluster docking your boat there as all the event boats start coming in? I have never kept a boat at LBR docks.

Here is all the info for the Tahoe inspections.
http://tahoeboatinspections.com/

Basically you would pay the $66 fee and if there is any water present an additional $35 for the decontamination ($10 additional for any ballast systems). The decontamination happens right then and there at the inspection facility, there is no 30 day lockup.

Maybe they will bring out the docks again like they did for Desert Storm.

I tired taking my boat up there (from so cal at the time) to see the in-laws and go boating and at that time I had called the local recreation department to see what restrictions are put towards non local boats and I was told that yes I would need to place the boat into a 30 day "quarantine" prior to putting the boat into their water. That was 2 years maybe shit has changed since.

Sounds like it has..
