Yeah the battery in the kit you posted is actually a little better then the one I posted...I say go for it...you can always buy a better charger down the road...

1 crawler is terribly boring. Multiple crawlers with buddies is awesome and they are slow so you can hold a beer in one hand and drive with the other...lol
Plus shit don’t break as much. But yeh there’s 3-4 of us who nerd out on the rc crawlers in camp.

Whatever you decide, just look up all the upgrades you can buy for them. Two buddies from work and I went to the local indoor track every week, and I was changing coil over spring rates and shock oil, and rebuilding the shocks so I could be faster than them. You and your boys will have a blast.

yep...

Even the wifes will get onboard with the crawler program. They also try and refuse and after i make them take the remote they find its a blast.

Be REALLY, REALLY careful charging Lipos, and always do it outside. There’s lots of horror stories about overcharging them and garages burning down.

LiPos are much safer than they used to be, with the proper charger and maintenance you really have nothing to worry about. The chargers balance all of the cells, and if there's any issues the charger sees it and it will not charge.

All of the cordless tools are lithium based, and all these EVs are lithium based. Those are always plugged in in the garage.

all depends on how old your kids are and where they plan on using them. If you get the slash and they use it on the street, one rack to the curb and you will be replacing front end parts on Christmas day. The stampede is a bit more durable with the large tires on it. I would probably be getting 4x4 in whatever you get.

Hard to beat the Slash from Traxxas, and when they get better at driving them, it’s fairly cheap to upgrade them with a brushless system.

I can't believe no one suggested one of these bad boys yet. No deposit required, they're already in production!

I bought one of those as a gag gift... I might get stuck with it now.

But at least I will have something to show for the money I spent.

I know someone who had lipos charging on the floor of their class A while driving down the highway and one of the batteries caught fire.

Everyone got out,

The coach burnt to the ground.

Just getting started. Have a whole stash of batteries. Although I will say the 2s 7200s last forever in the trucks, hours. The boat however will hog em down in like 6 minutes.

I was way into rx cars when I was younger. Started with battery then up to the nitro cars. Been debating on getting back into with an easy rtr battery car. I'm may pick up the slash.

Nitro cars were fun back in the day with speed and longer run times, but are such a pain in the ass to keep tuned just right. With the lipo and brushless motor technology now electric is a no brainer

Ya that's what I was thinking too. I spent more time tuning then running lol.
