Randsburg General Store is in Randsburg, California.

End of an Era …..
🥲

It is with a heavy heart and deep regret that we tell you all that the historical Randsburg General Store will be closing.
We were able to make it through:
* The Pandemic
* Out of country travelers banned from flying to the US due to Covid
* Difficulty in obtaining our regular product(s)
* Lack of customers during the summer months
* High gas prices
* The fact that the cost to operate has doubled in many areas, from
food to utilities and more
We are hanging by a string ... but we tightened our belts ... to allow us to make it through these lean summer months until the “season” begins. Many of you already know how tough it’s been, and how hard we’ve tried to hang on.
However, we are not able to make it through the fact that:
* The property owner has listed the building for sale AND
* During the slowest time of year is now raising the rent.
We have not a penny left over at the end of the month (in fact, we have less!) and therefore can not afford any increase, and will not sign a lease that we know we can not fulfill.
With that said, we are truly sorry, we appreciate each and every one of you ... locals, regulars and people who have stopped in now and then. We have made many friends along the way, many who will be life long.
We will be closing the Randsburg General Store sometime in October. Please come see us before we go.
We will be downsizing and moving up the street to The Vault. Please come see us there!!
May be an image of outdoors

Damn, that sucks. I'm going up there in two weeks. I always make a pit stop there.

Good news it sounds like there moving down the street, bad news is moving from a iconic place that has been there for decades. Hopefully the landlord will rethink his decision I don’t think buildings are in high demand in Randsburg many have been boarded up for years.

Wow that sux! I thought when the couple who bought the General Store around 10 years ago as a business it also included the building? The landlord could be sitting on a zero rent condition for years if they vacate? There's not a big demand for businesses that generate 95% of there income on 26 weekends a year and can turn a profit.

On the other hand we don't know when the General Stores last rent increase was? Was it 10 years ago or ever?? I'm sure the landlords property taxes have gone up since then.

There's always 3 sides to every story. Your Side, Their Side, and The Truth. 🤪 🤪 🤪

Brad and Carol are OG San Fernando valley people. She’s just a Little Bit, and used to stunt double young girls back in the day for horse back stunts etc.
Brad is a great fabricator and Sprint car guy.
Sorry to see it go. May have to head up for a last beer on my way to Road Runner for a last breakfast.😪

My friend’s sister is the owner of The General Store and will shut it down in Sept or October. She bought a pizza place up the street so there will still be food in town, being next door to the joint was nice. There are some locals that are trying hard to get off roaders out so it’s important that we obey the rules while in town if we like going there.

First the White House, not the General Store, at least the Joint is left
I feel like the guy who ran the White House kind brought on his own demise. He always kind of an asshole and had a shitty attitude, service was pretty bad. He could be sitting on a gold mind during the winter time if he played his cards right during the season. I kind of feel the same way about the Jawbone Store- I can only imagine its hard to find good , reliable help out there. If they played their cards right it could be a gold mine year round as well especially with all of the travelers headed north to Mammoth etc... If done right with food, beer, entertainment, RV Park, etc... they could draw all kinds of crowds. Jawbone Canyon Store has been one of those desert staples since I was a kid, I think its time for a refresh.

Look at The Joint- Neil and his family are all super cool, and appreciative to have everyone's business and it shows- they are always busy.

Sux to see the General Store closing, we always took the kids there for burgers and ice cream while we were hanging out next door at The Joint. I guess we can thank Putin for this one too.

If they succeed no business will be left . Sad everybody can't get along .

I think the off road/Harley crew is the bread and butter of that town. Without any of them that town fizzles away. I agree with what you are saying- I have heard that to but hard to believe that's what the community wants.

Agree off roading has been easy to get into the last 5-10 years and brings the idiots in who gotta race up down flash their lights all night then okay the stereo level 10.

Eventually people get tired of them. Towns made it before them will probably go without them.

I like the Joint ,Neil and Holly but I don't think all the motorcycles that have been going there since they took over is helping out ! I have seen some of them doing burn outs etc , locals probably don't like all the noise !!
