We purchased a white tail high fence hunting property in February this year. I have been working on logo's, any opinions?
Were are an MLD with conservation option, so our season is Oct 3-Feb 28. It is full weapon and sex the entire season. That way we can cull before the rut.Forget the logo, when can we hunt....lol
logo looks good!

We haven't decided yet. Our first year will be mainly improving the genetics. We will cull only 4 1/2 plus inferior bucks and does more by count. I am trying to add some additional AI does with great genetics that will be tagged to prevent shooting. We have some nice 170+ bucks, but won't shoot them yet.Nice, you setting the ranch up for hunts? Or is this more of a personal place.
We would not add hogs or anything that compete with the deer. If we add anything it would be grazers. Axis will eat both grass and browse. We are letting a neighbor run 20 head of cattle half the year to keep the grass down, but might add Oryx or some other grazer. Prices have risen after the freeze, many exotics died in TX.I like the top logo. where is the ranch, have you though about maybe adding some axis or sika deer? maybe some hogs?

Axis taste fantastic, and i believe are year round. my buddies dad went last year brought back some meat for me. i have since ordered some online and it was good as well. TX hog is wide open.Axis deer i believe are year round in Tx as they are not native. Supposedly good tasting but I haven't had any.... and it's Tx hog are everywhere.
The State does not apply seasons to exotics. You just have to have a license and an endorsement. You can hunt any of them year round. I saw on just one ranch 83 axis froze to death. They are plenty of axis running low fence that have gotten out,Axis deer i believe are year round in Tx as they are not native. South of Breckenridge, about 7 miles. Makes it nice to have feed store, processor and taxidermy so close.Where is your ranch at?

Definitely runs the gamut, some simple some huge monuments. We are going to use the brand on the gate and logo on koozies and tshirts.Doesn't a ranch logo have to be scrawled in a half rotten piece of wood hanging from a log by the front gate? I thought that was a requirement
Ended up picking the top one . Been a fun year with the property. We only harvested 20 tags, 10 short of our goal. Our plan has changed significantly. We are going to reduce the whitetail population to a family and friend manageable harvest number, probably require 50 tags next season. We are transitioning to a super exotic breeding ranch. We think we will have much reduced liability and much improved long term cash flow. A female Sable sells for about 50k currently and has a higher carrying capacity per acre than cattle. We have stocked with Arabian Oryx and Sable so far, will be adding Kudu as soon as available. Thank God for the tax benefits cause this has been much more expensive than we anticipated.Did you decide on your logo? Have yall taken any monsters of the property since your purchase. I bet there is some amazing wildlife on y’alls property.
Interesting move, going to exotic’s. That’s the same business model the South African hunting concessions adopted. Plains game hunting interestingly enough, hunting ranches brought back withering game populations.Ended up picking the top one . Been a fun year with the property. No plans to hunt any of these animals. We have established a relationship with a company called Wildlife Partners. They purchase your available offspring at a roughly 70% rate of retail. They capture, transport, guarantee and sell for you. You are guaranteed payment even if animal dies during capture. As to the cold, there is always risk but we have installed cold weather structures for each species. The majority of the species lost during the freeze two years ago were from properties without this infrastructure. We won’t market the property unless we decide to sell on our own. If you look up Wildlife Partners on Facebook they have a spring auction coming up and you can see the list of species available, some really cool stuff.Interesting move, going to exotic’s. As to Sable; I didn’t think they would do well in a climate with the temperature range the Breck area. Kudu probably fine, they are found in some of the colder areas of Sub-Saharan Africa.
Are you planning on marketing at the SCI and DSC shows? I’m an exhibitor at both.
This is a pick off our Sable bull, hopefully he will be ready when the girls are.Pictures? This sound very interesting!
This is really interesting. I had no clue this business model existed outside of Texas. No plans to hunt any of these animals. I’ll take a look at Wildlife Partners.
You’re probably smart not dealing with Marketing hunting or having to deal with the hunters themselves.
Do you know which species he is?This is a pick off our Sable bull, hopefully he will be ready when the girls are. View attachment 1097943
Breckinridge made me assume ColoradoThis is Texas
I know there are two separated ranges, but am not aware of subspecies with Sable. I know Roan is a similar antelope species.Do you know which species he is?
Doesn’t really matter, just curious. There’s Common Sable, Roosevelt Sable and a species in Angola that was thought extinct that are showing up again called Giant Angolan Sable. They are freaky huge. I’ll try to find an image.I know there are two separated ranges, but am not aware of subspecies with Sable. I know Roan is a similar antelope species.

Yea, Roan look like a tan, immature Sable. You might look into those as well, they are considered “Royal Antelopes” and are just as or even more expensive to hunt, in Africa.I know there are two separated ranges, but am not aware of subspecies with Sable. I know Roan is a similar antelope species.
Well, I am one.WTF, Hunters Lives Matter!!!
Hopefully just a no fire zone, currently 45k acres burned south of us in Eastland County. We need some rain! It was on the national news, a police officer died trying to evacuate residents. Lots of posts of cattle being burned alive, horrible. Not to worry, it's currently a no fly zone...
Just going to have Arabian Oryx, Sable and Kudu so far. I did make one mistake, we have 4 Scimitar Oryx. I didn’t know the could cross breed with my Arabians. They have to go, might trade for same Blesbok.Yea, Roan look like a tan, immature Sable. It is actually the brand CTR for Chasin’ Tail Ranch, not that we will use it.I like the logo but the TOR thing could be redone
