My little Gibbs crossed the rainbow bridge. He has had some health issues in the last few months. Had his ups and downs and I decided this morning it was just too much. He stopped eating on Tuesday and stop drinking water this morning. I shared him with my mom since my dog Toby and him were attached. My mom left on Tuesday to Kentucky since her dad had emergency surgery. I think he was holding on until she left. She is devastated, but got to say bye over the phone. It was very difficult to do it alone. But, he is running around, and eating again. I know he’s happy. I miss him terribly. Toby does too…It never gets any easier. He was such a good silly boy.

Oh shit. So sorry man. I’ve got one that looks like Gibbs. My girl is Francis. It’s gonna crush me when she’s gone.

Condolences. It's obvious in your posts that Gibbs was a large part of your family.

Our Saylor looked like he could have come from the same litter. Saylor will show Gibbs around the bridge ,where all the good toys are and he'll point out exactly where he met up with Grandpa Ray last week.

Sorry for your lose. These little furry babies help to take away the day to day life stress and they are so happy to see you when you come home. They don't talk back, they don't argue with you, they just want to pay attention to them and be your buddy. Wish they could live as long as we do.

"There is a cycle of love and death that shapes the lives of those who choose to travel in the company of animals. It is a cycle unlike any other. To those who have never lived through its turnings or walked its rocky path, our willingness to give our hearts with full knowledge that they will be broken seems incomprehensible. Only we know how small a price we pay for what we receive; our grief, no matter how powerful it may be, is an insufficient measure of the joy we have been given."
~Suzanne Clothier~

I'm so sorry. My heart hurts for you, as I know how hard it is to say goodbye 😢

oh man, so sorry.

I had opened this thinking I was gonna see your lastest cool last minute adventure up to Lake Powell.

Looks like he had a great life!

Go Gibbs, you are going to have a wonderful time now. I’m finally at the age where my young pup may out live me. 🙏

Sorry for your loss. It seems that every time I read that Rainbow Bridge poem, somebody starts cutting up onions...
Rest in peace little buddy.

Thank you all. All your words mean so much. He was such an awesome part of our family that always made us laugh. He was a goofball.

This really hurts. Toby isn’t doing well. He is eating, but sleeps on the blanket that I refuse to pick up off the ground that Gibbs used and wakes up at night to yelp. He never has done this before. I may call the vet on Monday if it continues to see if he needs a low dose of anxiety medication. This just sucks.

This is what I mean by a goofball. Just a spazz lol. This video makes me laugh. I forgot I had it.

And this is what I know he’s doing right now. He loved the dog beach. He can run free without pain…no more restrictions on his diet with fears if a pancreatitis episode. He was too cute!
