For Christmas I bought the wife and I vhf/uhf handheld radio for her jeep and the boat. I downloaded the PCI channels on it. What bands do you guys use or recommend? Hz in? Hz out? Using for Havasu, Glamis, arrowhead and big Bear trails.

Use the furthest channels they offer. Especially at glamis otherwise your gonna know where everyone is headed going to eat whos getting sick etc.

I have two baofengs my son used the other and I just enter a channel do I don’t hear others chit chat. Only use radio if need to warn or if we lose sight of him.

Enable CTCSS or DCS encoded squelch and you will clean up a lot of that chatter.

I bought the baofang as well. It was inexpensive and seems like a decent enough radio for the buck. I must be getting old (even if I'm only 43) but the traditional cb radio is so much especially to deal with.
