Took electronics out of truck since motor was bad, always had escort detectors from original 80's model to the passport series. Well since I kept truck installed new motor thought new radar upgrade, I'm looking at escort max and have read valentine are decent. Now inmate input on their detector recommendations.

Does valentine offer real time other user alerts? As in traffic, speed traps, etc. Escort has some sort of app now.

I have the Escort Passport 9500IX and I swear by it. It has saved me so many tickets I lost count. It works amazing and it's GPS enabled so it automatically erases repetitive alerts from surrounding radar signals, like speed warning signs. My Dad has a Valentine one and I got a ticket with it pulling a trailer on the 40, never again. The Escort Passport along with the Waze app reduces the chances of getting caught speeding to almost zero.

It really doesn’t matter what you run, if I’m running the radar correctly (which I don’t always do) all the detector will tell you is you’re getting a ticket.

Not with my Escort Passport 9500ix..... Over time you learn the detectors alert characteristics. You know when you're getting close to a LEO with Radar. The only real time that you can get zapped and not have enough time slow down is with the Laser alert (which the Escort has) then the time to react and slow down is cut in half. But I don't run into real laser alerts at all. It's all about the KA band..

Escort has worked for me over the years. Like what has been said above you need to know how to read it’s signals. If you’re gonna just drive a 120mph and expect it to save you, you’re gonna be disappointed in a big way.

Agree the passport has saved me multiple times I have 99.9 percent faith in it. If CHP has laser it doesn’t matter. That shit was instant when I got popped on the 10. Thing said laser then POP lol

You need detectors in cali? Most there can drive better and faster, and if your nailing them with the speed gun they are hauling ass from my observation of cali drivers. ( compliment not putdown )

So these work with speed cameras?
Yes, known traps and camera location's the one I'm thinking of also learns your travels and false pickup signals to eliminate them, the app supposedly let's others put in problem areas like gas buddy.

Radenso DS1. Love it. Works fantastic and I programmed it per Vortex Radar specs.

(Radenso is under the same ownership as Uniden)

Waze App is the best thing I have ever had. Radar detectors are from the 80's/90's and not 100%. I'd rather trust all the Karen's out there who over post cop locations. To be honest, I'm amazed they can even write tickets anymore.

Valentine One. I can't stand the others that don't tell you if the radar is behind or in front of you.

Also Valentine one always has the same alert tone. The Escorts talk to you and make all kinds of different stupid noises that scare you for no reason.

Valentine One, Dont waste your time with anything else. Like others have said turn off X and K bands and you wont get any false alarms.

I have one in every vehicle. The side benifit is the Parker Police, CRIT Police and Havasu cops all leave there radar on around town, You will get alerted if there is a cop near you

I have an Escort 360 max that has been barely used. I will sell it 100 under retail. Perfect working condition. Duplicate detectors.. I don't need this one.

We have the Escort iX and cannot say enough good things about it, but I think the model may be discontinued. Paid for itself on our first trip from Reno to Twin Falls, ID. I see that Doc stated to turn off the X & K bands. That would work if you only drive in big cities or the interstates. Small-town sheriffs and police often use still the older technology, so you may want to use caution with that, depending on where you drive. We use WAZE sometimes also.

So how about mounting these. I thought it was illegal to just stick one on your windshield.

Why would any of you need a radar detector? I’ve read every RDP member drives the speed limit and not a MPH more or less. That would be unsafe!! Yore destination will be there in another 10 mins, just slow down!

When I have the 5th wheel and the boat running tandem behind the F-150, I usually keep the cruise set at 95.. the truck stop special uniden detector hasn’t failed me yet. 🤣🤣

I was coming up to the second bend by the railroad tracks from leaving Vidal Junction, a guy behind me was matching my speed when my V1 went off. I slowed down and tapped my brakes repeatedly to give this guy a warning, he flew by me and his passengers (college sausage fest) flipped me off as they passed me. A mile plus up the road road they were pulled over. I honked and my wife waved as we drove by. You can lead a horse to water….

You know what’s crazy ? Since I retired, I now never drive faster than the flow of traffic , don’t have to because everyone is speeding . On long trips I do use a radar detector, but it’s mainly for going through small towns . The cost of a speeding ticket isn’t just the ticket itself with all the fees , you get points on DL , insurance goes up and it affects your credit score too . Plus I absolutely hate contributing to the general fund .
