What’s a good brand that doesn’t break the bank?

Currently has an Escort Passport 9500 (i or ix) with blue lettering. I prefer blue over red.

It’s a great detector but tired of all the false alarms from cars with rear and side sensing capabilities. Also afraid my newest pick up will set it of randomly.

The first couple years I had it the unit was great, still is from a detection standpoint but now with more and more cars on the road that will randomly set it off.

Oh and if you own a Chrysler Pacifica, you are an asshole. Do the world a fave and burn it to the ground.

You just need to turn off K and X

Valentine one and turn off the X and K bands entirely

Majority of LE are on K or KA in my neck of the woods.

X rarely triggers - a hand full of times a year.

Back sensors on cars generally trigger K, and side mirror sensors trigger KA.

Unfortunately turning off K band isn’t an option for me. Getting hit with laser seems to happen maybe once every other month.

Love my cordless Passport but I am used to it going off at Walgreens and the Dollar Store. It does pick up cops coming the other was very far off. Save the price in tickets I’m sure

The cleanest detector is free - waze.

I use Waze on conjunction.

New pick up is nice. Displays waze on the god screen.

I’ve yet to see a K band used.

Ka and laser in Az and I travel a lot. Like 4500-5000 miles a month

The V1 has always been the best but I got the Escort Max 360 and it works great. The Max 360 has built in GPS to silence false alerts.

Which ever you pick make sure it has the directional arrows (like the V1 or Max 360). The arrows make a huge difference.

That's because you're Black.

I've never been pulled over for 10 over on the Highway. Surface Streets might be different....

No we just get stopped for window tint in your car. Jackass

I have the 360 and it works well but I like the simplicity of the valentine. I haven't figured out how to program the 360 yet.. too much talking

My V1 got stolen awhile back when my truck was broken into in my driveway. This post convinced me to get another, checked the website and it says out of stock? How’s that possible, it’s the only thing they make and sell? Anybody know how long before they are available again?

Anyone have a Valentine One that has already been updated with X & K turned off that they want to sell?

My IT guy at work is a radar guru and said he talked to them and someone in procurement screwed up on purchasing. Shouldn't be too long.

Cool, I’ll call them Monday and see what’s up.

I've owned my Passport Solo S2 for almost 20 years, and haven't been popped by Ka or K during that time. I use Energizer lithium batteries to power it, they last for 3 or 4 months.

About eight years ago the on/off switch quit working. I sent it to Escort for repair, and they returned it with a new case, switches, main circuit board/microprocessor assembly, and the latest firmware. I was charged $80, which was a great deal. A new one is $250.

I ordered the Escort Max 360C. I’ll use the 9500xi in the F450 since it’s used less.

I read something today about the V1 I didn’t like but can’t recall what it was.

The cool thing, I didn’t pay a dime for the 360c. I was able to use Hilton Honors points on Amazon. Crazy! Saved me $650.

V1 tuned. If you drive across the desert a lot they are pretty key.
