Yep, you want to get the fuel out of the float bowl to keep it from gumming up with the shitty fuel these days.
Excellent, thank you...running out the old right now and will top off with Tru Fuel

Not so sure about that, I followed those directions ONCE and it dried out the all gaskets and o-rings! After that it was ethanol free fuel and Sta-Bil and never had a problem...
That was kind of what I was thinking, my boats I've always put away with VP 108-110 and never an issue in spring

I’ve been using portable generators for more than 10 years now. I’ve always ran the carb empty when the power emergency was over or I was done test running it and never had an issue.

Funny story but I sold my first generator which was a Champion (made in China pos) to my buddy and told him to do the same thing. He didn’t bother to and also didn’t use ethanol free gas. Unfortunately for him he had a gasket leak at the carb when he tried to use it in a power emergency. I reminded him of the advice I told him.

A family member gave me one years ago and it was nice ,7500 watts on an easy to move cart.
Woke up no power last winter, heavy snow all night and high winds, news was saying 4 to 5 days for power restore, crews coming from out of state.
Wife was headed to work and I said I'm going to dig out and get the generator online.
Honey, George came and took it back last year when you were gone.
Harbor Frieght in my town answered at 7am and said I have 3 left.

We store some small equipment all the time and just run the carb dry. We will put stabil or a splash of race fuel in the tank and never have a problem.

The 3500 carb has a drain. Real easy.

That's exactly mine, thank you.
I always end up trying to find out how to make my Vette ET better on YT 🤪

I have the exact generator. Haven’t used it much but it’s for sure coming with me to NH. Our house there is wired for auxiliary power.
I use stabil in the gas. Run it every month or so.
Haven’t needed to run it hard since I’ve had it so no first hand info but reviews on them are high.

We were on it for 4 days, starts on the first pull every time.
I figured out it will run the whole house minus the water heater, 2 hours a day I would shut everything off and run the water heater for 2 hours.

If you didn't get it i highly recommend getting the 10" wheel kit for $59. I figured I could use my hand truck but that didn't work very well.

I just use a diesel genny. No issues letting sit. But when I do use it, I run through a tank of fuel.

I always add Stabil when I add gas to the toy hauler. I've never drained the carb.

I installed the generator myself on 01. Starts every time I go to use it. 👍🏼

My Wen generator runs the carb out when you put it to stop mode. I put Stabil in it and start it every couple of months with no issues.

I have the same unit.... Bought it when we started to have brown outs.... Once I bought it we haven't had one since. Have you put it through it's paces? Did it perform well?

I think I’d go AV gas or something to make sure shit doesn’t dry out.

Mine has C-12 in it currently.

When the power goes out here it's no joke, my connection is on the side of the house and dragging a hundred pound generator that won't start does not appeal to me.

Same here but I have used it a couple of times when we were dry camping in our TT (30amp) and ran everything fine. When I got it I ran it through three cycles, first cycle was at idle for 20-30 min, drained oil and refilled. Second cycle was at idle for a few minutes then partial (40%) load for 20 minutes. Change oil (less glitter this time) third time and ran idle for a few minutes then full load to half load for 20 minutes.
Manual doesn't mention anything like this but I've always cycled new small CC motors and they have always serviced me for many years.

oirs are nothing like yours. No cold to deal with.
Mostly to keep both refrigerators going, a fan or two if it’s hot and a light if it’s dark.

Up until a year and a half or so ago one extension cord would go over the fence to the widow Barbra next door so she could creep her fridge going.
She tried to dry her hair one afternoon while plugged in😂
We had to set some ground rules😂

I have a Honda 2200
Did the propane conversion, that way i dont have to worry about fuel going bad, and if i need to i can still run regular fuel in it

I did something similar. Broke it in with regular oil. Switched to synthetic. Also added a magnetic dip stick and a separate hour meter. Also removed the flame arrestor mesh in the exhaust.

In the age of ethanol fuel, I think carrying a spare carb is good idea. Especially since they’re usually only $20-$50.

Makes it super easy to deal with fuel issues, so you aren’t dicking with cleaning a carb out on the trail…just swap the carb and be done with it.

I resurrected my Brother in Laws riding mower after he completed successful cancer chemo, it had sat for 3 years.
Ordered 2 at $28 a piece, starts right up.

Our edger carb committed Hara Kari and a new Buggs and Strap on carb was banned in Cali.
Had to go to the "Dark Web" to get one. $14.

Easy fix. Open the float bowel drain and keep it open till you use it again. I've said it 100 X's and people still continue on with more complicated "fixes"

Works on every Toyhauler Onan carb and all my other generators.

On power tools I've been using the Stihl fuel with good results.
