If someone had 12 by 50 inside storage with AC set at 78 degrees would people pay $400 a month for it? 20 foot wide door by 14 foot high so no problem for a motorhome, unit is 26 by 50 and you would get half. 24 hour access, cameras, gated, etc.

I would say absolutely, in a heartbeat if I needed it. 50' by 12' and air conditioned. Seems like a no brainer.

I’m sure someone will take you up on it. I know my rent on my 14’ x 35’ Storage just went up to $300 a month 👀. It’s gone up 50% in just 2 years.

Looking into to buying a few more units where I have mine now, just north of Walmart on the access road by the Toyota dealer, I will keep you posted.

Ive thought about renting out a bay in my garage, 35' deep, 8' door opening. It would really only be good for a boat. Wile the garage isnt AC'd, it is a tuck under garage and stays cool with the doors kept shut. Flat driveway too in the middle of town.

What would someone be willing to pay? Its just a brainstorm at this point

Just some perspective from Fort Lauderdale....... I just got a quote to store my boat in inside rack storage. They wanted $900 per month for my 30’ boat.

I only inquired because the Hurricane Haulout is just a ridiculous. I just paid $1700 for the first Storm of the season. Each Storm after that will cost $850 for the pullout. (50% of 1st Storm price)

1 Storm. - $1700

2 Storms - $2550

3 Storms. - $3400

4 Storms. - $4250

5 Storms - Boat for Sale

Funny thing is..... I own a trailer. But then where would I take it?

I am thinking about buying a warehouse, just for this purpose. However, I would charge a Lot more than $400 if you wanted to put your boat in my warehouse because a storm was coming.

I was just talking to a buddy this weekend that stores his boat in havasu, and he said he pays 360 a month? So I would assume 400 isnt terrible?

There is no charge for electricity at the place, its included in the HOA dues, so I keep it cranked.
Iam curious how long it will last before they start charging us individually or raise our HOA dues?🤷🏼‍♂️. I just got my a/c installed so I haven’t been able to time it but Iam curious once you open your roll up door when it’s 115+ out how long does it take to get temp dropped down to 78??

You are in the same place? I got an outside wall unit cause that wall came insulated. I split the cost of insulation with the guy on the other side of me and the guy behind me. All of us run ac so that helps a lot since I don’t have any hot walls so to speak. It’s holding fine at 78-80 today and is 112 out. If you open the garage door your fucked of course

Yes I am... 78-80 is still a very comfy temp I figured Id be screwed once I open that door to back boat in... no matter what it’ll still feel better inside they’re wiping a boat down then outside.
I still need to seal the roofs off in mine as I only have 1 Neighbor running a/c for now.

I'd be interested, more than I pay currently but it'd be nice to be in a climate controlled unit.

Pretty sure you could buy a house on the gulf with a lift slip for less than those storage prices, lol That is Crazy!!!

When I was down there I had a 1900sq ft warehouse that I kept the boat and other toys in. It was $2k/mo but we also used it to work on cars and stuff. I did slam it full of other people’s boats during Irma, but they were all friends so I didn’t charge them. Actually my boat wasn’t even there at the time. There’s another car behind the Jeep too.
Funny story, the white Jeep was brand new and it was my friends wife and it was her baby, they put it in the shop instead of their boat during the hurricane. A few weeks later someone smashed into it and totaled it 😂 thats Florida.

Hmmm so I can put my boat on a storage rack for $900/month in FL, (which would be $1500/month in Havasu)

Or for $845/month I can have my own private storage unit that is climate controlled in Havasu.

Decisions, decisions... 😂

I do own a home (Highrise Condo) with a deeded boat dock and boat lift........ I am certainly not going to leave my boat on the lift for a storm/hurricane. Sure I could pull the boat and put it on my trailer....... but my condo building won’t let me park it there, which now puts my custom boat in a theft situation. I would rather pay the pirates at the high n dry their bounty, even though it feels like a rectal stretch. It’s super easy....... but expensive. Also it is only rated at for 160 mile per hour winds. Dorian, had it hit my neighborhood directly, would have collapsed the high n dry and totaled my boat.

Maybe I should name the boat “Ben Dover” It seems to be the position that most boat owners are in in South Florida.

The good news........ I make a ton of money moving boats when a storm is coming! That’s when Ben Dover pays me! I am a delivery Captain.

Been trying to get someone to do the same to mine. My friend sold me a/c equipment at his cost and just charged me labor to install and so the guys that I’ve called to install flashing have not returned any of my calls or showed up to bid like promised 2 times now. Guessing since they didn’t do ac work that they are not interested.. We are in A102 one of these days Iam sure we will cross paths.
