Question for Truckers

When I drove out to California two weeks ago, I was listening to 550 KFYI on the AM radio and all was well. I was in the fast lane passing truck after truck after truck and then I’d pass one and as I went by, the radio turned to complete static, and just after I got done passing, it would go back to normal. This happened maybe 4 times on my trip to OC.

Were these guys hauling weapons grade uranium or what?

I believe normal CB radios are only a couple watts, but you can buy amps that boost the watts way up, not sure if that would affect AM.

I run trucks local and have a CB on all the time i don’t think it’s CB interference
But I have noticed the same interference I think it’s mostly on big fleet trucks and is some kind of tracking or communication system they use

Had one of those Prime haulers in the Number 2 this morning in the hills on the 210 doin about 58. Asshole had traffic jammed for two miles behind him.
Fuck those guys.
Last week it was in the 1 doing 80. Always a Prime or FedEx hauler. and,Oh ya, Fuck those guys.

Wasn’t me but that was an interesting call. I don’t go quite that far out. If you’re west of the sign with the blue line and American flags on it, it’s not mine.

In the last few years I have noticed trucks using all but the #1 lane in Calif. Has the law changed? I thought they had to stay in the right two lanes only. Seems to me most of the asshole inconsiderate drivers are all the towel heads too busy jabbering on their Bluetooth headsets. The old days of truckers being great drivers are long gone.

Just remember he was the slowest guy on the road illegally in the number 2 lane. If that’s all you got move over. I respect the guys haulin low boy or pilot but these guys subbing Amazon or fedex are dicks.

Actually he was probably passing the slowest guy on the road.... And I'm sure he moved over after he finally got past... Going 58 he was already 3 mph over the speed limit... I've been pulled over and ticketed for 59moh. At least the guy has a job and doing it....

oh that's a whole other thread, Fridays they are hauling ass like 80 down the middle emergency lane for miles and I never see the assholes pulled over.

My latest towing escapade, the truckers take up both right lanes so you or they can't pass in the secondmost lane. That has turned the third lane from the right into the passing lane for trucks, which I see all the time, and I was forced to do myself towing the boat.

I have also noticed the truckers hate the right most lane for all the idiots who can't merge onto a freeway at speed so I see their point of trying not to be in that lane.

Really it just comes down to bad driving all around. But rules enforcement seems to have gone by the wayside. Most I've seen is CHP light guys up for being in the wrong lane, then turn lights off when the guy gets back into the correct lane and then they speed off. Guy promptly returns to the lane he got lit up for.

So I guess I should apologize.. When I originally read you post in my head I imagined you were talking about one truck passing another at 58mph. Don't know where the hell I got that from. Anyway now back do defending truckers! lol. There are certain areas that it is posted that trucks ok right 2 lanes or something of that sorts so he might not have been there illegally! . I agree there are plenty of dick head drivers out there but now all... just sayin....

Now impatient car drivers... last week on the way to the river pulling my boat was passing a truck. There were no cars in the 2nd lane when I merged. Next think I know there is a black Bentley on my ass and when I changed back to 1st lane I got the finger and he merged into my like he was going to hit me! Asshole car driver!

Gave him to lake view terrace. Didn’t make it. On his lid at sunland and wrapped up four other cars. Hope he died.

I get that static as well with some trucks while listening to am radio. Figure it had something to do with their computer or a transmitter etc. it’s usually as your right along the cab.
