Canada is getting crazy. My SIL is Chinese and like the people, etc. But we are going into Richmond for dinner tonight cause well my SIL gets homesick for the holidays. In Richmond Chinese are the majority of the population there.

My question. When do they lose the visible minority category?

WTF!!!! in Chinese?....... Vancouver is more diverse but even there immigrants make up 51% of the population. Yet the "minority" groups are still called "visible" despite being slightly in the majority now. Many Vancouver public schools now teach in Mandarin and English is secondary. I have no problem with immigration, just don't think we should allow the immigrants to build a "better" China here that's all. Without my SIL, a Chinese immigrant. We can't go for dinner in Richmond cause few actually speak English there! The latter is what ticks me off! Needing a trained in China translator to go to a city in Canada....

The positive. We don't have to go to Thailand for a Thailand experience!

Our Eastern Indians are awesome. Their kids are more Canadian then I. They watch and play hockey. They are into our holidays big time. Wish the Chinese would do the same.

Lol... Whites have been the minority in California for years now... but you would never have known it based on statistical reporting. Last time they did the census it finally came out that Hispanics were the majority. Nothing has changed since.. Whitey is still the root of all evil.

As viewed from the USA, allow me to warn you right now . This post has placed you between The 9th Circuit Federal US Courts, and President Trump, which is a very dangerous place to be .

Just look at what "Muslim immigrants" are doing across Europe, and yet we still have "criminal US politicians" who demand that the USA allow "open borders to everyone" .

When any country "changes it's behavior" to accommodate the social desires of it's "growing immigrant population", the entire country changes, often for the worst ...............

Really, I like horsing around with the young Sikh family girls cause they are like Valley chicks in the 1980's. Makes getting gas and smokes more fun when the girls behind the counter know and joke around with you. One said/commented on how she likes we have a white Christmas and fresh snow for snowboarding. Got into a half hour conversation on skiing and snowboarding. It would be nice if the Chinese did the same. Assimilate, no, just basic common interests and ability to communicate is all I want.

My SIL is more racist then anyone I've met in my life. This includes a great uncle that told n-word jokes all the time. That's what worries me the most about our immigration and political system. Here our system is one party rule. To be premier of a province or prime minister of Canada. Their party must have a majority in the legislature. Our politicians can also be fired very easily because the prime minister can remove them at whim. So its you vote the party line and can't free vote unless the prime minister says it is. We should join the USA and our provinces become states.

It's possible that Obama had similar thoughts when he stated that "he had visited all 57 states", a few years back . HA HA

Sounds like your Province should elect a NUMBER of people to represent them, all in one election . So that when the first person is "thrown out by the Prime Minister", you have a cadre of "like minded" replacements, all ready and waiting to go ....................

You’d trade your free health care to be world police? Right now you have the best of both worlds.

I go to Toronto a couple of times a year and Vancouver. I gotta say you guys have a lot more “immigrants” than I see in the states. It also seems to me that your cities are clean though. I don’t know why or why I have that impression.
