Maybe this has been discussed and I missed it, but I've been hearing rumors that the new ramp will be private, or at the very least state passes won't be honored. Any info?

It’s a state park, so access should be granted. Unless the state leased the ramp to someone to get some $$

The south ramp is for the "Concierge" service. Store your boat there and they will launch, gas it up, stock with beer, ice, etc... and have it waiting for you in the courtesy dock when you arrive.....leaving will be the reverse. This is what the developer is hoping to deliver.

The plan shows only a double wide ramp for the use of the service provider and is not part of the State Park lease from what I have been told. This location is different from Windsor and Cat Tail where the State owns the land and the park....in this location the developer will retain ownership and the state has entered into a 40 year lease as it has been described.

Sure doesn't seem that's the way it was portrayed originally.

Is there a clear yes or no answer? Will the AZ State Park annual permit be accepted at the Havasu Riviera public ramp? Seems strange this remains yet to be answered. Not interested in "concierge" type service. A "south ramp" was mentioned. This seems to imply there will be "another ramp" with a different set of rules?

Havasu Riviera Arizona State Park, Havasu Riviera and Havasu Riviera Resort ... Inc.), will feature a public boat launch ramp, wet slip marina, dry boat storage ...
Should be a public ramp and that is what it was advertise at to get permit.

I guess we will all find out in 4 years when someone provides clarity and/or they actually release information lol. Did anyone ever find out if they are selling lots or a developer was going to build homes in phases or some mix of the two? I feel like they are missing the cycle on this one and by the time this actually gets moving it may be too late. Having a private ramp for homeowners of the development would be a great selling point.

A private ramp for Homeowners would be an amazing value add.

Between the hotel, condo's and the 1,000 + house's the ramp should be exclusive for those user/owner's. I would be be pissed if I owned a house in the Riviera and had to deal with the normal chaos of other public ramps.

That's fine, but it was never sold to the public that way. They public was led to believe there would be a new state park ramp. Maybe they need two facilities, one for the rich and one for us deplorable's.

I just got a Windsor annual pass and asked this question. The guy told me the pass will be valid there too. Then he said he was pretty sure, so he didn’t know...

So 2 ramps. A north and a south? North is state parked leased ramp from builder and south will be private?

This beautiful looking project is going to turn that section of lake into a worse clusterfuck than it already is. Not looking forward to it.:(
I'm on the fence, but mostly for the congestion on Hwy95.

We boat weekdays and go North most of the time so a So. ramp isn't that big of a deal, just don't like being misled if it turns out to be a private ramp.

The bs that is put out to get projects like this rolling is deep in order to get funding and public support. Rarely do they end up as originally designed.
See current new "motel" being built where the big fancy resort was going to go in the old English Village as an example.
.
Look back at how diamond valley lake near Hemet was sold to tbe public.
.
We do a large part of our boating midweek too but enough on weekends to know how different it is, already.

I think everyone knows you are 1000% against this project....

I think people are confused about the new launch ramps. How I have read it there is a public ramp (already pushed into the water) then a private ramp for the storage facility that is south of the public ramp. Both are in the riveria development.

I Could be wrong but that’s my interpretation.

I never said I was against it, I think it'll be beautiful if it all happens. I 'm just not pleased with the adverse affects(that I foresee) it'll have on the narrowing part of the lake. Nor am I convinced all told will come to fruition, not to many promises in Havasu has accomplished this.

I received a similar response when I recently purchased the AZ Annual Permit at Cattail Cove. They were quick to mention Windsor and Buckskin. The Riviera was unclear and seemed yet to be determined. Just my observation.

Does the Marina plan on offering yearly passes ? Maybe reducing their fees ? I would think that this new marina might hurt their business.

The launch, recover, and storage is going to be sold out, if it's not already.

We have this service at Lake Pleasant, and it's worth not having to own a big truck w/ payment & insurance.

I mentioned this in this thread or another and was told I'm a negative Nelly. It will do nothing but screw this lake up even more. And for all you high performance guys, what are you going to do when it goes to a 35mph lake????? Don't take this that I don't like speed but it's coming and it's coming fast.

Just curious. Since there are so many police agencies up and down Havasu. Which one will be the one to shut it down and enforce the 35 mph rule?

Maybe it will relieve Windsor and heading north on the lake that’s a cluster coming out of the channel. That’s me stiring the pot.

I don’t understand Havasu is going to continue to grow no matter what. What’s the big difference if is on the water or out in the desert. People are people and are going to end up on the water no matter where they build in Havasu.

I didn’t hear the negativity When the refuge was built. It’s close to the water and on a busy portion during weekend boating. Didn’t people think they were going to close it down heading north because of noise and that never happened. Way to much money is brought to Havasu because of boating to close down portions of the lake. Look what happened last time that happened. John McCain came to town and they ended up shipping off the fish and game director to a different district....

I agree with you except I don’t remember anyone being worried about the Refuge being built near the lake. They don’t have a Marina. There biggest problem was the land compaction.

No marina but I remember people saying they were going to build these million dollar homes up on the hill and make make it a 35mph Going north because of noise. Same things are being said about the riveria.

That area of the lake from Contact Point to Havasu Palms is a natural choke point. Throw an additional bunch of boats at it and that area becomes "ripe" for special regulations, aka unwanted speed limits. Believe the Colorado River, and the lakes formed upon it, come initially under Federal regulations.

I said it'll be a clusterfuck outside of the new marina on the lake.
35mph was concerns by other members.

In this thread I believe the OP was referring to the "South Ramp" as just the main ramp at the Riviera. That ramp actually faces North which might be where some of the confusion lies early on in the thread. The main ramp is open to the public and can be used by anyone. I was told (when I worked for the Riviera) that the state park yearly passes would not be honored at this ramp. I can't cite any reason that it wouldn't be honored, but that is what I was told. That was very early on though, and in any development things are fluid and that may have changed by now or it may not have. The project is still a ways out though, so I'd wait until it's further a long and their official press releases regarding that before making any determinations.

They will have a dry rack storage building (forklift into a rack) that will be built down in a valley. I can't remember the exact amount of boats it will house but I believe it to be 150 - 200 or so. That launch facility will have it's own concierge docks and a smaller launch ramp that the staff will use. One of the benefits of that is if you have a home there and keep your boat in your garage the staff from the storage place can also retrieve your boat and prep it and put it on a courtesy dock for you then put your trailer back in your garage.

Thanks Dave and Paul that seems to make more sense, now just got to figure out why a state park pass may not be good a state park facility.

That is still fluid as Dave mentioned......when the deal was announced the Mayor stated that he had been involved in making the deal (state, city, developer) and it was stated at that time that the passes would be honored........this came up because they were (of course) talking about how the tax revenues would be spread.

This was probably 2 years ago so like RD says it's all subject to change......which is probably why the Rangers at Windsor don't know either........so I guess we'll just have to wait until a definitive statement comes from the State.

Thanks Dave and Paul that seems to make more sense, now just got to figure out why a state park pass may not be good a state park facility.

In an article in the Havasu Herald it stated, according to Michelle Thompson, chief of communications for Arizona State Parks, she confirmed that an annual Arizona State Parks pass will not be valid at the Havasu Riviera State Park once opened. No other detail were given on that statement.

Then again everything on the web stated opening Spring 2018. We are way ost that and I don’t see that ramp opening for at least another year.

Cruised by on the water the other day, great big sign(s) only visible from the water shows "Opening October 2018" ---- I seriously doubt that will happen.
